Just because China makes a territorial claim doesn't mean it's automatically valid.

I'll agree that the United States definitely does want to pick fights, because it's profitable to those who have the most influence over our politicians.

If you don't like this, and I certainly don't, then it's time to stop parroting Ruin Paul and find a candidate who's actually talking about effective solutions.

He's not hard to find; Bernie Sanders is the ONLY one.
Bernie Sanders is likely just a wolf in sheeps clothing. When push came to shove he refused to get behind actually auditing the fed with Congress instead of some independent hack. I'd rather he got elected than Clinton or pretty much any of the other major candidates but that doesn't really say much of anything. I'm pretty sure Trump is Hitler reincarnate.

Ron Paul isn't running so I don't know why you even care about him. I have no idea what he's saying about anything these days.

Just because the US says it's not valid doesn't make it invalid either, you know? This is there sphere. US foreign policy has enabled them to take much more aggressive positions. I was saying this is what would happen 13 years ago when discussions of Iraq were first emerging and it was clear a lot of the world wasn't on board. I said if the US acted unilaterally that opens the door for other powerful nations to do the same and that large scale conflict would be an inevitable result if pursued aggressively. China hasn't actually been that aggressive compared to the United States.

When your argument involves government = conflict and you guys are sitting there arguing about it this one time government stepped into something they shouldn't have... well... it does prove the point does it not? Or did you fail high school?

Bullshit opinion piece.

Thanks for the quick response, but there is no answer, only a few names unknown to me.
These statements I have seen elsewhere, comment on the merits, please.

I believe that the Syrian drama can not be dissociated from the religious relationship of the parties.

In my opinion, sharia is evil. I believe that the political support for the expansion of sharia is a crime against civilization.

Assad Alawites are far from the radical fanatics. They are fighting for a secular state, not shouting "Allahu Akbar", not beheading "infidels" that willingly makes his opponents.

So you go from one Christian right wing web site to another. And they use each other as the source for their Story's.
And you want people to take you seriously?

Christian right wing
The Christian right wing? I am an atheist.
I have no political obligations to unpleasant allies that support the fighters for the establishment of Sharia law on the whole earth.
And I consider very unworthy to support those who support armed bearded men screaming "Allahu Akbar."

It makes me a "right"? OK

Your sources of information are questionable and meritless.

Eh... it's really just two sides of the same coin. Plenty of videos of Alawite militias executing and torturing Sunnis, and also Hafez and Bashar have both ingrained and entrenched the concept of ethno-religion in Syria; there are two sets of laws, a secular version and a religious version. If you're Jewish, Christian, or Druze a separate set of laws apply to you; if you're Muslim you have secular courts and religious courts. Religious education is mandated by the state according to the religion that ones parents practiced. The Assads have tried to present their family as incredibly pious Muslims, they went through a period of Sunnification, and then oppressed Sunnis in Syria. Alawites are given preference in the government even though they account for something like 12% of the population.

Some of the things Alawite militias have done have actually helped out Ashar al-Sham and Jubat al-Nusra, as they've taken a new line of jihadism termed "Defensive jihadism," as opposed to "offensive jihadism," which Islamists in Mali, and Daesh practice (in theory).

Politically Correct Jihad? You can't be serious. I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry. I've never met somebody so far to the left as you. Just when I thought to have heard it all, you surprise me again and again. Bless your liberal heart

he cares about the expanded naval base Assad promised him
Political observers are compelled to express biased point of view, and thus create a disgusting to me the fog of propaganda.
I do not apply for this role, and talking about my personal likes and dislikes.
Interests of Putin as Russian official can and certainly different from my own, and I do not have to share his position.
