Rush Limbaugh defends pirates

Exactly right, CJ.

All one has to do is to take a look at Natrone's and Med's last post to see how the progressives hide their heads in the sand. Of course, before they bury their heads, they come up with their little chicken-shit attacks ... with no substance at all.

Oooh Oooh, can I play too?

Blah Blah Blah "ignore the 10 trillion in new debt" blah blah blah "we lost the popular vote, take it to the courts" blah blah blah "fuk the constitution unless and only unless we can use it to cram our agenda down the throats of the masses" blah blah blah "pay no attention to the community reinvestment act that CAUSED the economic disaster, that a liberal congress passed and BARAK OBAMA sponsored" blah blah blah "how dare you bring up the FACT that the Congress voted to go to Iraq based on the EXACT same evidence that the administration had access to" blah blah blah "Chavez and Castro are really humanitarians" blah blah blah...

Man, I think I could fill three pages up with the delusional, suicidal beliefs of the typical liberal. Liberalism is a MENTAL DISORDER.

As a libertarian in the fullest sense of the word, it amazes me that liberals or more accurately...statists...don't just look at the states and cities that get their WISHLISTS of liberal policies passed with ease. They are the most unstable (even in the best of economies), can't provide their own energy needs, and are typically crime ridden cesspools. Case in point, New York, California, Michigan and the list goes on. The sick thing is these people are FLEEING the cities they ruined with their deranged voting habits and are moving to the "sane" cities and states. The problem is they DONT LEARN...even as they RUN like rats from a sinking ship to dry land, they bring their lunacy with them and are now ruining those areas as well. They are a CANCER...a slobbering, festering, suicidal mongloid with herpes, running rampant through this country raping everything and everyone they can get their hands on.

Speaking as a person who lives in the People's Republic of Kommiefornia, the state with the highest tax rate, the highest unemployment rate, and the lowest educational results in the nation, you get my nomination for Post of The Month. :)

Rightly said............. get up and leave. Just don't come to Nv. we've got our share of outcasts from Ca. They all expect the same living conditions as Ca. They even built a whole city, called Summerlin. That's where 80% of the foreclosures are. This city of roughly 500K was built in the last ten years, and filled with wingnuts from Ca. Please go back and take your cotton picking attitudes with.............

It's comments like that, that perfectly prove my point. Not one comment on the truth of my statement (mainly because it isn't debatable), just blather about how I must want to kill those with whom I disagree.

You must confuse me with a conservative extremist....survey says....INCORRECT. I'm no shill for either party, but I DO have two good eyes in my head and I can see events happening RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME...even if the current/past administration is telling me I'm not seeing what I'm seeing. It's no different than Harry Anslinger lying about our bestest buddy that we celebrate here.

I live in NC, moved here from up East and before that...yep...you guessed it...California...Im a Hunnington Beach bum for life. We are being FLOODED with families moving here from Boston, New York, and so many other states that tend to, how should we say, lean left? Same story every time...taxes too high, schools suck, high crime, blah blah blah...then they get here and vote in a manner that guarantees the same result here.

Medicineman, after reading your posts for a while now, the one thing I can say is you are consistent. Your ability to completely disassociate yourself with the facts under debate is impressive. I wish I could brainwash myself to that degree, I figure all I need is a lobotomy and some tights.

Well Dank, I know you relish the thought of proving me wrong on the issues, but I certainly wish you would do your own research instead of me doing it for you.

And ... that is exactly what is happening in California ... businesses are "getting the fuck out." Of course, this puts ever more pressure on the state legislature to raise money, so they just bury their heads in the sand like good little liberals and raise the taxes even further. A wise person like yourself would look at California as a microcosm of where Obama would lead us.

For your edification, I present the following:

California

At 8.25%, California has the highest state sales tax, which can total up to 10.25% with local sales tax included.[12] Sales and use taxes in the state of California are collected by a publicly elected tax commission. The statewide 8.25% is allocated as:[13]
  • 8.25% - State
    • 5.00% - State - General Fund
    • 0.25% - State - Fiscal Recovery Fund
    • 0.50% - State - Local Revenue Fund
    • 0.50% - State - Local Public Safety Fund
    • 1.00% - Uniform Local Tax
      • 0.25% - Local County - Transportation funds
      • 0.75% - Local City/County - Operational funds
On April 1, 2009 the state sales and use tax increased by 1% as a result of the 2008-2009 California budget crisis. The minimum sales tax statewide will be 8.25%.[14][15]
Supplementary sales tax may be added (with voter approval) by cities, counties, service authorities, and various special districts (such as the Bay Area Rapid Transit district). The effect is that sales tax rates vary from 8.25% (in areas where no additional taxes are charged) to 8.75% (for example, in the city of Avalon, on Santa Catalina Island, in National City, in Alameda County, and in Sacramento). On Oct. 1, 2008, the city of South Gate and Pico Rivera increased their sales-tax rate to 10.25%, the highest in California.[16]
The last changes to the published local tax rates took effect on April 1, 2007. Official updates are published on the Board of Equalization website and also in Publication 71.[17][18]
In general, sales tax is required on all purchases of tangible personal property to its ultimate consumer. Services are not subject to sales tax (but may be subject to other taxes).
Vehicle purchases are taxed based on the city and county in which the purchaser registers the vehicle, and not on the county in which the vehicle is purchased. There is therefore no advantage in purchasing a car in a cheaper county to save on sales tax (a one-percent difference in sales tax rate would otherwise result in an additional $300 loss on a $30,000 car).
In grocery stores, unprepared food items are not taxed but vitamins and all other items are. Ready-to-eat hot foods, whether sold by supermarkets or other vendors, are taxed. Restaurant bills are taxed. As an exception, hot beverages and bakery items are tax-exempt if and only if they are for take-out and are not sold with any other hot food. If consumed on the seller's premises, such items are taxed like restaurant meals. All other food is exempt from sales tax.
Also excluded are food animals (livestock), food plants and seeds, fertilizer used to grow food, prescription drugs and certain medical supplies, energy utilities, certain alternative energy devices and supplies, art for display by public agencies, and veterans' pins. There are many specific exemptions for various veterans', non-profit, educational, religious, and youth organizations. Sale of items to certain out-of-state or national entities (mostly transportation companies) is exempt, as are some goods sold while in transit through California to a foreign destination.
Occasional or one-time sales not part of a regular business are exempt, except that sales of three or more non-food animals (puppies, kittens, etc.) per year are taxed. [19]
There are also exemptions for numerous specific products, from telephone lines and poles, to liquid petroleum gas for farm machinery, to coins, to public transit vehicles. There are partial exemptions for such varied items as racehorse breeding stock, teleproduction service equipment, farm machinery, and timber-harvesting equipment.[20] For an organized list of exemptions, with estimates for how much revenue the state loses and the people saves for each, see Publication 61 of the Board of Equalization.[21]
Sales tax is charged on gasoline. The tax is levied on both the gasoline and on the federal and state excise taxes, resulting in double taxation (triple if the money used to purchase the gas has already been subject to income tax, as would be the norm). The sales tax is included in the metered price at the pump. The California excise tax on gasoline is 18 cents a gallon.[22]
Motor vehicle gasoline and jet fuel are subject to special taxation regimes. In 2005, there was a political dispute in the San Francisco Bay Area about whether revenues for jet fuel should be credited to San Mateo County (where San Francisco International Airport is physically located), the City and County of San Francisco, which owns the airport, or Alameda County, where Oakland International Airport is located. (The distinction is largely point of delivery vs. point of negotiation for the sale.) This is controlled by Regulation 1802,[23] which has other provisions about businesses which have multiple locations.
Critics of the current sales tax regime charge that it gives local governments an incentive to promote commercial development (through zoning and other regulations) over residential development, including the use of eminent domain condemnation proceedings to transfer real estate to higher sales tax generating businesses.[24]

Its nice to have another logical, clear thinking Libertarian posting in the forum. :)

I predict that it won't be long before Med presents you with a death threat via private message as he did me. When it happens, look at it as a badge of honor.

I count the moments until it arrives. I like medicineman...hell, I like everyone on here...even the crazies. The great thing about being a free thinking libertarian is you get to watch the mindless drones on both sides blather talking points and fling unoriginal, impotent attacks at each other. And if you're real lucky, you get to throw in little jabs and stir the pot a bit.

 And I/we have your stinkin' ass, Med.

The reason your debating skills suck and the reason you always debase yourself by lobbing personal attacks, is because your premises are founded upon quicksand. Its not just you, Med ... you can see it with almost every liberal who enters into a debate with a conservative or libertarian in the public sector. They either try to talk over their opponent, or they start leveling personal attacks. Its the liberal way.

Quicksand, I say! QUICKSAND!!!

Are you kidding me? Without a doubt.... I'm pretty sure McCain would not have TRIPLED the entire national debt for a two year recession. Pretty sure he would not have tried to wrestle control from the private sector. Pretty sure he would not have given a full waist bow to a Saudi KING. pretty sure he would not have released CIA torture parameter limits to the enemy (<---quite unbelievable). Pretty sure he would not have pushed through far reaching taxes on the public without discourse or without at least SOME democrats on board. Pretty sure he wouldn't become an instant shill of Congress.

Yah, I'm pretty sure McCain would not be making such terrible blunders.

But I didn't vote for either one.
