Runtz and something else Redeux

Dropped some seeds in off the shelf "Nature's Care" potting soil from Big Orange. I filled five 9 ounce cups w/soil, dropped a few seeds into each cup then watered with three ounces water spiked w/mosquito dunk. (While I have not seen any fungus gnats the mosquito dunk was added in hopes of preventing a future fungus gnat infestation.)

I expect these seeds to start popping by Saturday Noon.

All comments are welcome and I'll try to post a pic everyday as close to Noon as possible.

Seeds are popping.

Today ends Week One from cup drop.

The seeds are finishing the sprout process. Will probably transplant Saturday.

Tomorrow will transplant each plant to red Solo cups in the organic potting soil I have on hand.

The cups hold 18 ounces. After transplant I'll add three ounce of water so they won't be flooded and die.

Some cups had 5 plants while one cup had 1 plant. Transplanted the 12 best root balls into 18 oz red Solo cups. Punched holes in the bottom of the cups.

Gave the transplanted 3 ounces of Mosquito Dunk water each. I'll leave them under the fluorescent for a few days then lower the LED.

These are 12 days from seed drop.

See how the leaves are curving down on that plant, or two? Thoughts.

Today was two weeks since seed drop. Today I partitioned the tent down 50% to keep heat and try to raise humidity.

The plants seem dry and I'll probably give them 3 ounces of water each tomorrow.

One plant looks droopy but it's dry so shouldn't be over-watering.

The 50% partitioning helped bring up the temps. Now the temp is between 77°F & 78°F.

Humidity is still around 26%.

I gave the plants 3 ounces of water each. This may help with humidity.

A couple look good while that one on the end looks like it's not gonna make it. Outside temp is 2°F.

I’m having same problems with heat and humidity I have a dome on them but it looks like you overwatered them for how small they are. That’s why it could be dying let her dry out and see if she comes back. Also it could be they are a little shocked from transplanting them that young

They do look very good though

While the temps are cool outside today I'm vacuuming the basement foundation sill and foaming air leaks. This should be the last can of foam.

Foaming air leaks does help stop drafts. Foam won't help me bring the temps to 80 but every little bit helps.

Three are doing OK. On the three goods you may notice yellowing on the older leaves. I think this was due to under watering. They get desert dry and then only get minimum rations.

Today I swapped the florescent for the UPDAYDAY UD-4000HPS Full Spectrum LED @ lowest power placed about 30" above the plants.

The light set to lowest only got the temp to 68°F.

The light brightened to medium gets the temp to 76.1°F. Will maintain 76°F-ish.

In my opinion you were definitely over watering those cups giving them 3oz of water each. In comparison after the initial soil hydration I only watered my seedlings with 5ml(using a mini baster)each for like a week or so daily.

3oz of water is not alot.. Cups should be thoroughly watered, then left to dry.
They should be up on something so they dont sit in the runoff.

No runoff was coming out of the bottom of the cups when I added the 3 ounces of water. The red solos were never saturated.

The same death came to the plants in my previous journal.

Usually run into issues with low crop yield/potency and am trying to get ahead of the problem curve with this journal. Comments are welcome. 2 seeds in each cup planted in "Nature's Care" potting soil. Day Zero:

Just water them completely and wait for them to dry out.

Probably a humidity problem. I've got the heat fixed. If I blow mist across the plants, on a timer, they'll probably mold.
