Running out of room...iyo what should i do?

So I have a t5 with 8bulbs currently putting out 40,000 lumens over a veg of 6 clones and 1 mother at 18/6. My clones are lookin like 3 gallon buckets are coming real soon... My problem is that the t5 needs to be lowered because the top of my mother is 35' and the clones are 3 1/2' so they are not getting the light they need. My idea is to hang a 4ft fixture behind my t5 so that my mothers can sit in the back under this light and the t5 can be lowered for the clones. I have put out alot of $$$ to get started so I am wondering if I just use some home depot lights like the cool white ones, if that will be sufficient to keep my mother in veg? I need a quick solution cus I am losing days of grow time but like i said im pretty broke by now. I have a few 4ft fixtures laying around an i think even a 2ft one. I wanna only use one if i can. What bulbs can I throw in this fixture to keep vegging 1 or 2 mother plants(i will begetting another soon).

a link to some cheap lighting to fit in my standard fixture that will keep my mother good would be greatly appreciated if that will work... if not any solutions would be great... Thanks guys!:leaf::leaf::leaf:

its doable but understand that the bottom of your mom will not really be getting any light penetration with t12 fixtures. What you can do since its a perpetual vegging mom i assum is crop her down to 2 or 2 1/2 feet and put her under your other flouro until u can get some more lights. She wont stretch so badly and she will actually start more sites to take clones off of.

thanks hrblluvmonkey..... chopping a foot off my plant seems kinda sketchy cus im a new grower an havent had much experience. If you were in my position what would u do? i was hoping to not spend more than $50 to keep em vegging for just a few months.....till i can afford something else.. thanks again!

would side mounting another t12 at the base of my plants solve the penetration issue?
do they get very hot?

I usually deal with this by just putting the T5 at an angle with plants layed out by height.
You could also raise your shorter plants up, pots, buckets, and milk crates work pretty well.
at 36" you should be able to crop off 12". In fact it will cause the plant to bush out more, which is beneficial. With t5's you really want to be focusing on short bushy plants, so this is an option I would seriously consider.
Putting additional lights vertically can help as well, if you can keep the temps down that is another way to go.

Thanks for the response Gobbly,
anyone know where to find an article on cropping to maybe help me get an idea. My indoor grow bible will be here soon. Till then i gotta make due with online resources. Thanks again.... any other opinions are always appreciated.........
