running 400w HPS 24/7 - how bad of an idea is it?

I'm going to get a chance to catch up on my growing soon, as since I've had to wait so long was thinking about doubling my light usage with 2 batches, therefore running 24/7 for about 50 days, thoughts, suggestions, most importantly experiences?

any ideas on how you would accomplish this? are you saying have 2 sets of plants and just swap them over every 12 hours from dark room to light room? sounds a bit of a pain in the ass if that is what your talking about. what if you forgot or wasnt at home? easily messed up i recon.

is your ballast digital? i wouldnt run either one 24 hours. they get sooo hot.

Yea, and thats what I was worried about, it getting to hot. I'll just run it 12 hrs then.
