Run Arctic Alpines at 5v or 12v?

I've been running my Arctic Alpines at 5 volts. On the box it says it cools 100 watts at 12 volts. I read a while back SupraSPL did some testing and running at 5 volts is plenty of cooling up to 100 watts of COB?

I usually run 50-75 watts per COB. Is it safe to run the cooler at 5 volts? I'm thinking if Master Supra said so the answer is yes.

take its temperature. that will tell you if YOUR setup is running cool enough or not.

Good point. Should I grab one of those temp guns?
sure ... but I do find the ones with probes give a more accurate reading. The IR guns don't work well against a light reflective surface. I have a thermoworks IR that optionally uses a probe so I can do either.
