Rubbery Stems?!

so, i think i may have forgotten how to dry & cure. or maybe i never knew the correct way all along. i live in a desert. 16% humidity, and that is high for us. i have just purchased a dry tent. with a 4" carbon filter. i may need another fan to move the air. like a separate exhaust fan. now to the rubbery stems part. when is the best time to chop a plant down? seconds before wilting? the first plant i harvested is always the best. every harvest! i think its because im anxious. the 1st plant never gets flushed either, but we are NOT getting into that on this thread, PLEASE!!! i normally do. can the rubbery stems be from the soil being to moist still. if the soil is moist im sure the plant has some excess moisture as well. exactly when is the best time to harvest? and should i need a 2nd exhaust fan to move the air around faster in a 3x3ft tent? im basing the dry tent off the 4 Day Dry Box method. you may have seen on hear a while back. advise is needed and +rep for those who can provide help. thanks in advance!!

The Trichs will tell you when she is ready. If you don't have one already, get a x30 magnifying scope. Wait until the trichs start to go Amber, or she looks "Ripe". Then cut her. Hang her, until her buds feel dry on the outside. Then do your final trim, and put the nugs into a glass mason jar. Burp the jar every few hours, shake the buds around, then recap. Do this for a few days till you get it to the desired dryness. Then store for a week. This is the routine I follow, and have had great results with. Its a long process, especially if your don't have any smoke. BUT its well worth the wait. Compared to smoking semi wet/uncured buds.

The first question you asked was "when is the best time to chop a plant down?"

The second question you asked was "exactly when is the best time to harvest?"

He replied "The trichs will tell you" (which is true)

You reply "OMG that's not what I asked about!!!"

Before light turns on.. the plant willnot draw up the stored sugars and what not it made during the night and has stored up in the roots..

I like to let the plant get to right about wilting before cutting... just me tho.

well thats what i thought i was doing. but guess i was being impatient. after watching Jorge C. dvd he mentions harvesting 2-3 days after watering and mentions not to harvest when wilted. and im thinking back to some of my first grows how everything dried perfectly and nice. i had a few plants actual wilt minutes before harvesting. so, im going to tinker around with the no watering trick before harvest and see whats up.

my next concern is way off topic, but does anyone count the days of flower in which no flowers are developed? like some strains you wont see flowers on til about 10-14 days later. do you count those first 10-14 days? im finding that i harvested 1 plant and it was great. the rest of them seemed way premature. and yes, i scoped the trichs.

See, after 1000 comments I gave you the solution :) Hey stuff joking, regarding ambers... I grow Power Africa (Durban Poison x Skunk/Haze) for several years now. You will hardly ever see any ambers under the microscope. I waited, and waited... lol... Then I learned my lesson ;) The newst batch doesnt show ambers again. Milky is maximum they go. Few phenos went 0.1% amber, almost none.

I grew WW 3 times and I give up. The plant looked totally different every time then what they show photos of its original, white, nice and tasty. First it wasnt covered with crystals just not even average, it is with long strange hairs on buds growing round balls. I tried what they claim original Greenhouse. Then I bought WW from Seedsman, the same result, buds looks brown, hairy brown balls, no white crsstals. The plant was healthy and all that dont get confused. When you ask about ambers on WW, it doesnt show the color late late late. I choppped em always without waiting for ambers because then it would drag to 10-11 weeks flo. Anyway, I think they lost the original genetics, I will not order WW anymore. Beside her in the same batch I grew Great White Shark that was the whitest plant ever covered with zilions of crystals. Altho I wont grow GWS either anymore because it is not mold resistant.
