Can anyone find a chart for grommet and drill sizes? I cant seem to find it? Does anyone know the drill bit size i should use for a rubber grommet that is 5/8? 3/4? and 1/2 off the top of their head?

if it were me i would start small and if its too small go a little bigger but generally whenever I drill a hole for whatever application I want the drilled hole to be slightly smaller than whatever I am putting in there screw... so the threads have something to bite on... this application is probably going to need to be water or air tight i assume.... thats my suggestion just a tad smaller

I can tell you this,I bought some gromets and on the package it said what bit size to use,so I did and the hole was way to big to be water tight so I had to step down 2 sizes, the best thing to do is to try the bit out on a scrap piece so you dont ruin a tote like I did

I use calipers to gauge the panel grove depth on the grommet, then from that check the bit size. Just be careful to not squeeze the grommet. For my 1/2" ID GH grommets, I use a 7/8" flat bit.

So the holesaw size is perfect for the uniseals? because i know some grommets u gotta start like 2 size smaller for drilling holes even tho it says a certain size. for example: for the u050 part; it says for 1/2 pipe sz, it says 1 1/4 hole sz. so if i drilled a 1 1/4 hole its pretty much perfect? but when i look down at the next part for a 3/4 pipe size its the same hold size as the 1/2 which is 1 1/4? which one did u use

I use the 1" uniseals from this site. The hole I drill is 1 3/4". These don't leak, Trust me on this. Pay the money and order these. I tried the grommets from hd and they eventually leaked. I see what you mean about the 1/2" and 3/4" showing the same size hole. I'm not sure - I only used the 1" ones. Remember these are the dimensions if your using uni-seals. The grommets at the store might be different.

Hold on - I never even asked what you were using these with. Totes? or Buckets. I use Buckets. .If your using totes you may want to drill a littler smaller hole first because the plastic is soft.

Buckets, do you know if these fittings will work well with pvc plastic piping?

Uniseals in buckets work flawless. Buy the holesaw prescribed and run you drill in REVERSE. Nice clean hole.
