Round 3: Extrema & El Monstre DWC Cooler Scrog

That was my thinking in my previous grows but I read a few places that it is better to trim after they are dried cuz when you do the trimming the trichs bust and give your budz that better smell and also they get all of the excess nutrients from the leaves while they are drying. My budz came out ok last round but I'd like them to look and smell better this harvest.

It's easiest to trim before dried, plus you can make hash from your trim before it drys.

yo, what ppm are your plants at?

i have 1 plant in soil that will be finished in about a week or 2 (i'm waiting for this plant to be fully ripen) i just might trim the fan leaves and leave the sugar leaves until its dried.

Man great job on your grow, its incredible. I can never understand how people SCROG so well, some of those branches are so elongated and stretched, I don't know how you do it. I've read guides and tried on my own, but mine ended up in a lot smaller area than yours. Only 5 of the colas are at even levels with the screen, while theres tons of them underneath being shaded by the top colas that i cant really stretch to light.

Here are my rez numbers as requested. PPM has been between 900-1100 for most of the flowering cycle and is now at its highest of 1550 ppm. I do not think that high nute numbers automatically equal high yield or big budz. The growing environment and conditions are the major factor but it is good to know what your plants can handle without burning especially if you plan to grow that strain again. I will lower the ppm over the next couple weeks in the El Monstre rez and in the Extrema rez I will lower it as low as I can before I leave and see what it's like when I return. Then chop time for Extrema!

Thanks! It's not too hard but you gotta stay on top of the training daily and sometimes 2-3 times a day to spread it out. I trim a bit of fan leaves once they start blocking light from my lower growth. Alot of people don't trim because they think they are harming their plants and stunting them. This MAY be the case with standard growing styles but with the Scrog I think the sideways growth kicks in the hormones of the plants and kicks them into overdrive so they recover quickly from a few small cuts. As long as you don't go wild and start cutting everything then you will be fine. This is a picture of LST which is kinda like scrog but without the screen and you can see how every new growth spot will become a branch or bud if done properly.

I checked it when I got it but this is my first grow with it so I haven't had to adjust it. I would recommend checking the calibration in between grows just as a precaution.

I chopped the top half of the Extrema and will chop the rest of her in a couple days after it ripens up a bit more. After trimming I had 14.5 oz wet so I guesstimate I should have about 3-4 oz dry from this half of the Extrema and prob the same amount from the other half. So if the El Monstre is equivalent then I should be close to a pound but not gonna count my chickens before they hatch. It is definitely some killer smoke!

El Monstre is almost done as well so I will be chopping her down within the next 2 weeks so that will be awesome. Then I'll be taking a short little break before my next grow which I'm gonna make even better than this grow. Not sure if I'm gonna journal it or not though.

No need to photoshop, the pics speak for themselves. I don't post as much anymore cuz I feel it to be a waste of my time to take pics and be detailed and to get no responses. On another note, I chopped all of Extrema and 3/4 of El Monstre down. The Extrema was a big yielder with prob 8-10 oz dry this round and the El Monstre I might get 4-5 oz dry. So I should be close to a pound with a 400 watt light. I'll have more accurate numbers in a few days after I chop the rest of El Monstre and let them all dry out. Me and my gf have been at it and she threatens to pull up the plants so I said fuck it and chopped them myself cuz they were nearing the end. Now I will have nothing being held over my head.
