Roots through jiffy pellets in 5 days...

That time of year again, this time round decided to use peat pellets instead of dirt to raise my beans.
These were germinated in plain water overnight and placed in jiffy pellets on sunday night.
Thing is bout half the lil ladies allready poking roots through bottom and sides of peat pellets, they are powering...

Thought about lining bottom of my budget propigation tray with pearlite/vermic mix, sitting pellets on top so roots got somewhere too go instead of being air pruned..should I bother or just continue to water as per usual by lightly watering pellet and splash a bit in bottom of tray to promote humidity?
Also would like to hear from anyone that used peat pellets to start and transplanted to hydroton recirculating system as this is a first for me..starting nutrient srength, to remove or not to remove the peat pellets from roots..

Hi mate

I have used peat pellets before and they where great:). I transplanted into soil but, so I left the peat pellets on the roots and they turned out fine. your idea about putting perlite in the bottom of the propagator will work fine. Let me know how it turns out
I might give it a go.

cheers mate will do, think I'm gonna put pellets straight into hydroton instead, seems wrong to disturb roots by removing peat considering roots are busting through the stuff already, surely cant make much of a mess in system.
