should i just use the roots organic potting soil solo or mix it with something. i have some bcuzz coco coir but the RO is coco based so does it need the straight coco? i will be feeding it with the GO box from general hydroponics (cal mag, bio root, bio thrive etc.)

You can use it by itself or mix it with other things. If you haven't bought the soil yet, I'd get roots green fields over the original. Gf is a little stronger and holds water a bit better IMO. Either one you go with I'd probably add about 20% perlite to. With the go box don't overdo it. I noticed plants didn't burn easily with go but they were a lot more healthy looking with smaller feeds.

As for the coco you can add it to the soil it will give you a better water retention. Personally I.wouldn't add the coco but that's just me.

thanks for the info. i will do the roots only and with the go box are you meaning to cut down the proportions in the recipe or just don't use it every watering?

What's up man I'm only on my second grow but I'm using the original roots organic soil and the GO box as well and it seems to be a good combo. I've only ran autos so far and the soil seems to be all they need for the first couple weeks. As for the nutrients I've only gotten up to 1/2 the recommended dose and it caused some slight burning on the tips of the leaves so I would second the idea of being careful not to go overboard.
