Roots growing out of the bottom -- root bound?

A week ago I transplanted my WW from a 1 gallon to a 2.5 gallon pot. The plant was root bound, which at least made removal from the old pot easy. A week later, and 2.5 weeks into flower, and roots are shooting out of all of the drainage holes of the new pot! Does this mean it should be transplanted again?

Hey i was just trying to find out info on this same subject i have two plants both in three gal pots (the tall ones not the wide) they have been in them for little over three months now and i just switched to 12/12 three days ago but i see roots shooting out through the large drainage hole in the middle bottom AND on the sides of both plants should i risk transplanting into 5 gal or do the roots REALLY stop growing after the first couple weeks of 12/12? Sorry if it seems like i am intruding on someone elses post but because we are having similar problems i figured why not. I should also add that about a week ago i decided to utilize extra pot space on the top by taking the plants out fluffing the bottom of the root mass and adding soil to the bottom of the pots maybe three cups all together but as the original poster stated the roots must really love to grow out of the damn holes... What are the odds of my plants becoming root bound during these next weeks as the roots start slowing in growth speed? Being in the same 3 gal pots since October 5th and being bushy sativa's.
