Rooting clones and then putting them in plugs or rockwool

I have this tech where i put new cutting into a rubber maid contaier filled with perlite. i sit that container into another one with water. then i have wicks that pull the water into the first container with perlite. takes about 12 days or so to root, worked great last time.

my question is last time i just planted them into the soil. i wanted to see if this time if i could put the rooted cutting into a plug or rockwool, to give it support and help contiue the rooting once in soil.

anyone have any advice about this idea or should i just plant them in the soil?

cool thanks. im wondering more though, once they r rooted can i still put them in rock wool or what can i use opposed to just throwing them in soil. is there anything that will help them thrive until they get older???

by looking at your av i think you only use a few clones at one time.i am the same way,the answer to this is very simple.what i have done is got a old red plastic folgers tin.drill a hole near the top just below the lid to allow a air line, use a air pump on the opposite end and a air stone in the bottom of the tin.take the lid drill holes(i have six in a pattern around the outside edge)of the lid and one in the middle allowing 7 clones.take a rubber mouse pad and cut 7- 1 inch square pieces from it.then cut half way through, this allows you to put your clones in them and they hold them erect through the lid.fill the tin up with distilled water (bout a inch below your air line hole).plug in ( leave mine in flower room a good distance from the light)in approximately a week to 10 days you have one inch roots ready for transplant in what ever medium you choose.by the way it works the most efficent if your clones are above the water.hope this helps!!!!

ps........ no more misting or humidity domes to worry about.

i say put it in dirt. what better place for a weed to thrive? none i think. just start with small pots and try not to break sugar roots when you move to next size. i usually change up three sizes before i put em in for good.

if you use a cloner you really have no need for a cube, just be careful putting it in your hydroton and blam way ya go.cubes sometimes give a fungus growth if not properly covered no chance without.

The stranger ranking goes from stranger to able to roll a joint and so on untill youve made enough posts on riu to get a better ranking. The more posts the faster your ranking goes up.
