Rootbound problems

I just started growing again after many years and my plants roots will only grow straight down. They grow right out of the drainage holes but when I go to transplant the roots aren't taking up the whole pot. So how can I get my roots to take up the whole pot?

Maybe try adding a lil hydrogen peroxide(3%) to ur water. helps bring oxygen to the roots.

Alright cool. I will do it at the next watering, they're about to be fed. But my soil is Scott's Organic (70%) and perlite (30%)

that's good, i think it'll be ok to mix. pretty sure its 2 teaspoons per gallon
