rootbound plants helpful for outdoors?

So in my situation I am limited on space and transporting all of my clones secretly out to their grow spots. Because of this I start out all of my plants indoors in red dixie cups before transplanting them outside. The uniformity of them and their small size just makes everything easier. But what I was wondering was if I were to start my plants in the red dixie cups earlier and let them become rootbound wouldn't they explode with growth and be heartier right when I transplant them outside because they have a larger rootmass. What negatives would I encounter?

good idea!, i dunno what i would do,

why not try getting some routbound and transplanting some at the same time, and see which one grows faster or bigger.

yea i am hoping that some of my plants get rootbound in their cups before I transplant outside, or I'll just hang on to a few then transplant them and see how it works. anyone else have an opinion?
