root watering

Hi all had a little gnat prob. got that under control, I have never had that before.
I did a root watering but I am unsure of how long to leave the water that they don't take up?

I think he means watering via capillary action or uptake via drain pan.

If your water hasn't been absorbed within an hour you are good. I always go by weight and runoff. Obviously you wouldnt have runoff if watering via capillary action, so either the lack of uptake or weight will let you know if its wet enough.
