Hey guys, got one seed popped finally! :)

None of them were germing I was using paper towel method but it didn't even make any seeds pop open. It jst made them like rot and crumble eventually. Kind of disappointing really lol I used like 8 seeds and all died

So I said fuuuk it I'm just putting it in soil and waiting cus it's my last seed. And I should have done it sooner. Definitely the best for viable seeds is just put it in soil it didn't even need heat I put it in my drawer. it takes alot of patience though I have to admit, I started digging and thats how I know the seed popped.. the thing is like the size of a pea, and its green so I imagine it has a taproot I didn't see and its about to push it's way up unless I killed it lol. Anyway I immediately covered it back up with dirt and put it in my window. Hope it lives, I found another seed since and am definitely using directly in soil method.

Question: how long can I grow a sprout in a window before I should use lights?

Do you think I could get a plant strong enough in my window to put outside? Not because I cant provide lighting if necessary it's just because since I'mdoing an outdoor grow I figure if the seedlings grew like 3 nodes high in my widow they would be strong enough to put outside + already adjusted to the normal light schedule. Feasible? Should I do it or just use lights

How many nodes do you think it should be before putting outside? Last year I put them out when they were 3 nodes not counting cotyledon but it was like august I got a late start with them

Ok ill put them under lights untill they are a few nodes high.. by that time it will be pretty warm anyways so I don't think I should have a problem

I'm getting some clones today. Not sure the strain rn but I'm gonna ask. If they are already rooted can I put them outside right now? Im in Canada and apparently we haven't hit the last frost date for my area yet (may 12th) but the forecast says it won't go below 4 degrees Celsius. Thats like 35 or 40 Fahrenheit lows, do you think clones would survive outside in that? I'm pretty sure they're already rooted

I do all sorts of soil mixes for some of my more valued seeds, but the lesser stuff gets 13-13-13, a couple different kinds of time release, lime, Epson salts and coffee grounds. Dig big wide holes. At least 32 inches across. It will be worth the effort. And get that plant outside in the sun. If it gets too cold, you can bring it inside. Sun is what will make it grow. Don't over water the first week or so. {I always plant seeds straight into soil, pointy end down. Paper towel is great if you are wanting to cause root damage}

Your new clones will have to be introduced to the sun slowly. Harden them off for a few days in the shade before going into full sun.

Some of my soil mixes and other info can be found at https://www.rollitup.org/t/bushcrafting-the-weed-addition-bugout-patch.898431/ and https://www.rollitup.org/t/covert-grow-ops-sidetracked.903809/

But like others have said, you will have to make that plunge yourself.

Good luck with your grow,

Larry
