Interesting read, hope you don't mind if I skipped around.

I wish I could speak to the author, because I'd like clarification about a certain point:

"Just prior to dehiscence, the pollen nucleus divides to produce a small reproductive cell accompanied by a large vegetative cell, both of which are contained within the mature pollen grain."

It's not a pollen nucleus which divides, is it? Isn't it a gametophyte?

So, in less than three minutes I was able to find incorrect information in this "Advanced Marijuana Botany" text. I think I'll pass.

Of note in your image are steps 3 thru 5, the stages between fertilization and meiosis. I believe it's at this point where a plant either becomes a herm or a fertilized female (when pollinated).

Thanks for posting that image, it's true what they say....a picture is worth a thousand words.
