Okay so i just finished up my first crop of plants and as much as i enjoyed the ease of use of my super soil i would like to go with something that i have a little bit more control over, so that's what i have decided to do, for my next grow i am going to go with hempy buckets because they seem to me to be the best hydroponic system to suite my needs for right now. I will be using the GH 3 part flora series and i am trying to decide what is the best direction to go with on my water situation, for my last grow i used store bought reverse osmosis water and it was quite expensive and quite a hassle dealing with all of the bottles and going to the store, so i was considering buying a reverse osmosis water system from ebay for $140 or so. While i was looking into my water i decided to look over some stuff on gh flora series so i could see if i needed to supplement cal mag with RO treated water and i found that i did, but i also found some stuff from GH that's called hard water floramicro i believe my water is above 350ppm and i believe the PH is pretty high about 8 or 9 i think. So i am stuck here in the middle wondering whether it would be better to go with a Brita filter to remove the chlorine and gh hard water floramicro or should i go with an RO system and supplement the cal mag?

Thanks for the help in advance.

If it were me I'd skip the RO system. I've never had a problem with chlorinated water but if you want to get rid of chlorine just pour a couple bottles up and sit them for a couple days. Your PH is high but you've got good minerals so don't waste them in RO. Just use a bit of vinegar to reduce your PH (nutes will reduce too) until you've got it at ideal spot for your soil. Really, that's all you need to do. Also - you could get a rain barrel and connect to down spout of gutter. Free water - no chlorine and PH near 7.

Alright thanks for the info man, i would much rather skip the R/O system i have heard some bad reviews about the ebay ones i would want to purchase also its quite a bit more than i would like to spend at the moment, I'm just worried about what all could be in my water, i don't want to fuck up my hydro grows and not be able to figure out the problem because i didn't know it was my water, as far as the rain water goes i couldn't do that my neighbor would probably be suspicious as fuck.

Okay so i was doing some more research on the gh hard water micro and i decided to try and find out what is in my water and this is what i found, I'm just looking for any info in regards to whether or not i should use gh hard water micro or regular micro, also i would like to know if there is anything in here that will fuck up my crop, thanks for any info in advance.

[edit] Also i tested my water and the ppm came out to 285 and the ph came out at 8.0.
