Yeah and HTG is a well known and generally trusted business, maybe they are on the up and up. Though they don't say the led count or watt i counted the best i could and found it likely to be a 90w with 90 leds so 1w ea.

i came here looking for more information, not much here.

other sites tell me that the added IR might not work properly because it's outside of the agreed-upon peak wavelength combo with the deeper red, and thus reduces efficiency, plus it seems the only major effect of IR with deep red is added photosynthesis rate (I guess maybe faster growth instead of bigger flowers?) The EGL claims higher blue amounts produce better results all the way through, and a few LED grows on the net that use higher amounts of blue look like they do indeed do better.

Who knows? I'm trying to decide on whether or not to buy the EGL, Haight Solid-State, or the Advanced Nutrients panel. Overall efficiency per watt makes me lean towards the EGL panel, but the Haight uses much higher-power diodes for better penetration, and the AN panel seems to work better as long as you use their brand of nutrients with the panel (smells fishy to me.)

Yeah, it's super hard deciding what to get. I'm thinking of a small UFO to try out and get familiar with, then splurge on some lux model. Here is another UFO that seems really legit

That 600W AN panel is SICK.

Linked incase anyone else pays attention.

Haight Solid-State is awesome with that 6w led bulb. Jesus, this is just becoming a harder decision.

Have you seen the chinese leds? It's like looking through grains of rice.

I think you have to be a wholesaler to buy from that site, but still... soo many.

i just called the ecogroled number listed on the website, and I can't beleive I got an answer! He says he's up until nearly 2-4am every night and was more than happy to answer my questions! I'm not entirely convinced about his argument of using the 1w LEDs versus Haight's auto LEDs (he claims the added blue alone will help compensate for the lack of penetration by virtue of more natural ratios of high-efficiency light throughout the area,) but I am a little impressed with his flashlight and arm-sized colas instead of most other 90w 'UFO' panels produce little nugs, like that one youtube video of a UFO vs an HPS side-by-side.

still don't know what to do. EGL guy claims his tri-band can work as well as a quad-band with white diodes and that he's tested this already.

I'm so confused now. i might be thinking too much?

im insanely jealous you get to go to his headquarters store. that would be reason enough to buy his UFO. what is the warranty like? he talk about that setting his UFO's apart? Customer service is crucially important, which is why i'm impressed he was so friendly with you and attentive. Hope he takes visitors too, good luck.

warranty is one year for USA customers according to the website. he said that was typical but higher than most of the other competitors out there. dunno about just being able to go there being reason to buy one, but if he has good stuff to show then I just might be tempted to.

google biz listing shows that he does do will-call which means he does allow onsite pickups, so maybe he'll allow a visit! He said he was up at odd times, I might just try calling him again!

:O he answered again and said to come on by, and to call when I got onto his street so he could stand out to meet me!

i am heading to sleep, this is too good to pass up

back! the guy is a home-based business and you'd swear he was a mad scientist with his crazy hair and the strange glow present in his place from all of the LED lights growing all kinds of plants everywhere. He had it all, cactuses, peppers, herbs, pitcher plants and venus flytraps, all kinds of crazy loking plants. we sat down for a while and talked and he let me sample some of the edible plants, he has plenty of time since most of his business is purely online. i think he is definitely a person worth knowing, he has some crazy hydro setups that i could not think of making and he does have some sick results. i tried one of his peppers and it blew my mouth away, and the basil smelled like licorice and tasted like it too. the guy is a medical patient too, and he showed me a portfolio of prior stuff grown under various LED combinations. then he showed me his panels, and i still see spots when i blink! those are much brighter than i ever expected, and he said he's looking to cram as much power as possible into a tiny panel sooner or later.
all in all i picked up a 90w panel from him, it is about the perfect size for my little box and single plant. now i need to build everything and get my clone from the dispensary and go buy some nutes.

Wow. That's awesome. I wonder when he'll have those new panels ready. I'd have liked to have seen his research on other variations of LEDs. It would be so cool if his designs were the results of just research based on his medical grows.

So you went with the 90w Panel over the 90w UFO? Was that some sort of deal?

nah i went with the UFO-style. it is a panel, just round :)

and since drove out to him he gave me a discount since he didn't have to worry about shipping. I only paid two thirty.

Bud lover, again amazing.
$230 is sick for a 90w UFO!!! That's such a good deal. Hopefully he has some sort of coupon code for his site at least.
