bigworm6969 on here is working with some purple strains.They look great from picters I have sean and I got some going outdoors and hope they go purple..ky..ps.. pm. him and talk to him about his genetics he is working with.he is honest and seams like a hell of a good person...ky

As a new grower just trying to learn the ropes and realizing all that goes into just growing a plant, I want to give props to all the breeders here at RIU. This community as a whole is very informative, but the time the breeders put into producing the best genetics must be applauded! Hope one day when I have a little more experience under my belt to maybe get the opportunity to work with some of the great genetics I have seen here on RIU. Keep up the good work, and keep inspiring others to make improvements as well.

advice to a new grower in this regard... dont skimp on genetics! sort of like learning to play music on a shitty guitar.. you may even be decent and a quick learner at it but it wont sound as good as it should on a cheap instrument. growing out quality genetics will make your early experiences much more enjoyable, easier, and rewarding.
NO truer words have ever been spoken as you say and I agree with you 110 percent.I have grew weed for 40 years but I was onley a grower and never a good breader in weed but ladeys yes LOL..genetics is every thing.in the past I got lucky a few times with crosses but I was never a breader for breeding weed is hard work and time cumsing that word is not spelld rite but hope you can make it out.I give a big tumps up to the weed breaders on riu heres to them men and ladeys if any..ky

Thank you for this advice. I had followed this forum for a little while and heard some positive things about Herbies, so I did order my beans through them for my first grow. However, I'm not necessarily familiar yet with the breeders who are know for super high quality genetics. My beans were a variety of a few Heavyweight Seeds strains, Dinafem strains, and one Dr. Krippling strain. Have since been pointed towards a few other breeders that people on here have high praises for, but still have a lot more to learn!
I think this comment was in regards to the poster basically asking for RIU breeders to send him seeds. One of those "doesn't hurt to throw it out there and ask" ideas, I think?

guys im willing to keep this thread open because i feel it shows a lot of riu community and shows off peoples ability to breed, its a nice concept of a thread.
but you all need to follow the rules and respect rollitup that we have a no selling, trading, give away, swapping etc etc whatever you wanna call it
this rule is taken seriously and is a bannable offence should you continue to be told more than once.
so your testing comments have been deleted, please respect the forum rules and guidelines
it would be sad to have to delete a thread that shows a lot of nice work done by users because some users are not respecting rules.

I would be interested in hearing how that Luang Prabang turns out and smokes for you. I have had a few different Laotian varieties (no idea what area) and I enjoyed them when they were available.Thankfully I got my hands on some Laos Luang Prabang and Double Thai(Ace Seeds) and some wild Thailand from world of seeds. I'm excited to see how they turn out. @Sif1

I have a mass super skunk I want to pollinate with some purple genes. What is a really good purple strain I could order from somewhere to hit it with? I'm just getting into making seeds and I'm doing it for my own enjoyment and plus it will save a lot of money to just make my own. Any help would be much appreciated.

I like this advice. Heck, it's my first legit grow and I started with good seeds from dinafem and dutch passion. My seedlings are still small so I know it's me, not the genetics. Definitely a learning curve to growing, I feel like I'm drowning but practice is how you become a good swimmer (or grower in this case). Definitely next year I want to hit up some of the breeders on here and discuss strain options.I'd rather support the small man than one of the huge seedbanks overseas.

I think because of the 8 wk à lot of people miss good strain that take a couple more weeks like most of the haze and landrace
Also european grower don't mind the couple more weeks when I saw à lot of us grower ditch keeper just because it's more than 9wk

No more hazes/haze Dom crosses for me after the last one. Took up most of my space for the least potent/tasty bud. Now I have 6oz of ssh/lemonhaze that I'd prefer to be smoking something different.
