Rider's first foray into LED strip lighting - Samsung H Series GEN3

Well, these are 22" strips laid 2 strips end to end on each 48" channel. So I'm not feeding both ends of a strip, but the power for any strip does not go through another strip, it comes directly from the distribution block for each strip.
Which is exactly my setup. Going to a 16ga jumper wire between the 564s seems to have solved the issue, but doing it your way seems more robust.

What is the difference between gen3 single row 2' H and F series?
edit: This info is for the 44", not 22". My bad.

Physically, the number of diodes and the grouping of the diodes on the PCB. The H has 96 diodes in a 8Sx12P layout and the F has 144 in 16Sx9P.
In performance, the F series is the way to go. At typical operating voltage and currents with 3500K strips the H produces 3925 lumens, while the F produces 17,600. When I first started this journey I didn't know the F Series existed until @tomate educated me.

H562D and F562B ... those are both single row and 22" so what are the differences between them?I want to know which one is better and why cause just looking at them they don't seem to differ that much

You can get the datasheets here. There is nothing like a stare-and-compare between the two to make the lights come on (no pun intended). The F strips from Arrow are the way to go pricewise. The only bad thing is they do not have a huge selection in stock. BUT, the ones you're talking about, the 22" single row, they do have.

Arrow is awesome if you need to buy large quantities. Minimum purchase is 96 units for the FB24B 44" double row leds! Ouch!

@waynejohn, look at what I gave you for the 44" strips. I'm sure you can extrapolate that info to give you a feel for the 22" strips.

I am looking at the data and the H series looks better...what am i missing?
The f series have more leds for the same size strip, and much higher power at test currents, and they are cheaper. You get the discount price at Arrow at 26 strips. 22 inch strips that is.

For grow lights, the f strips kick sand in the face of the h strips.

I wanna know for those specific boards, they'll go together with cobs on my driver so and 3 24v strips will fill the extra 72v and 875mA that is left just fine
So i can chose from:
12x 1'H series, 3 sets of 4 strips(fits my space perfectly)
6x 2'H series, 2 sets of 3 strips
6x 2'F series single row, 2 sets of 3 strips

The first option fits my space just perfect the other two not so much

So my question basically is...why is 6x 2'F single row better than the rest of the options?

185 lm/w versus 197 lm/w
Where did you see 960 and 2240mA?

@BuddyColas
How much diodes in 22"?
Look on the data sheets and count the diodes on a 22 inch strip. That is how I found out. You can always turn the current down on the f strips and have them be just as efficient as the h strips!

They use the same diodes. No better deal going at present than the f strips from Arrow...IMO.

Gonna have to go with digikey, free shipping and i'm in EU so that counts a lot more cause of v.a.t. and don't need that many anyways
They use the same bin?

The actual bin used in current strips being shipped is anyone's guess. I think you'll be happy with the f strips. Haven't thought about vat, but have received good service from digikey. Wish you well on your build.

For 22" is 8sx9p on F and 8sx6p on H...if they use same chips it basically comes down to putting items in cart for F and then for H series(same number of diodes, not strips) and see which one wife is complain less about lol

Yes, the X factor in all things is...will it cause a disturbance in the Force with the wife? Nobody wants that!

@waynejohn, what’s better isn’t just performance. If the 1’ strips are perfect for your application that’s the way I’d go. With 12 strips you’d be adding, what, another 250W? It sounds like you’ve got a good grasp of series/parallel wiring if you know how to fit the additional strips to the head room you have on an existing driver. Good luck with the Finance Ministeress! :)
