I've heard good things from people that checked out his shop in person. Had some led lights I wanted for mom clone cab.

@smellytreez are you running the 600 or 400 and how tall is your tent? I'm a out to make 2x4 and the 400w ballast wouldn't be much more than fluorescent s

Is there a downside to running digital ballast and bulbs dimmed down over months or years? Could make it justified to get. Heat kills me in summer.

Hey guys im running the 600 watt with the adjustawing hood. I run in a 6'5" tall tent my grow room gets down into the 40s-50s at night but with the 600 runnin my tent stays right at about 70-80 so. It sure does keep it warm. The ballast does not get hot to the touch and the hum is so minimal that the fans in the ballast are about louder than the hum. Awesome product, awesome customer service. I had mine late cause I had ordered it around thanksgiving. But I have been running it 24/7 and not a single problem. The dimmer works well I will tell in time if it has any problems.

Oh yeah I forgot to say, Dont buy the ballast or light kit from his actuall website. www.gothamhydroponics.com. Buy it off of ebay. Cause if you buy it off of the website you have to pay for shipping, but if you buy it off of ebay you get free shipping and the price of the products are the same as his actual website! Hope this helps

Happy smokin and growin!

Sorry for the dyslexic moment. Typing from my phone can be a pain on this website.

I'm looking to order from them myself but the 400w for my 2x3x3 roughly sized cab. Check my thread out

I was very concerned about that seeing I'm growing in a 2x3 closet however I havent had to worry about the heat "YET" lol.. I tested the dimming function on all the settings and you could clearly see the light dim more and more on each setting. As far as the reliability of the dimming I haven't had experience with yet, because i've been able to keep it on full blast. "ask me further along in the summer lol."
You seem to be in the same boat as I am, summers I'm going to have to keep a close eye on my temps, but right now my veg side is about 55-60 at night and doesn't go past 70 in the day. That's why I'm interested in the dimming function. Thanks again for the info!

Why bother? With lumatek, diablo, and the new eye hortilux digital ballast coming out soon for the same price range why would you go out on a Wimb and buy something else?

Whats the same price range to u? Its almost double what I paid for a lumatek.

well because they run at the same frequency as a magnetic ballast on a solid state pcb? what does this mean? it means that because of the high price of precious metals metals to maintain the higher currents of hid equipment. They skimp out and run lots of electricity through a circuit board thats made to support a cellphone. aluminum "polymer" basically metallic paint is used instead of gold, brass, or copper connectors as well as the internal capacitors not being manufactured in the US. That means instead of being filled with zinc oil they are filled with whatever liquid the chinese guy who made decided to put in it because of lack of standards. Thats why its shitty, and thats why its cheap. Failure rates are important, and I made the mistake of selling Chinese digital once and will never again.

So you have experience with running and selling revolt ballasts? Or are you refering to general chinese made ballast that are sold on ebay a dime a dozen..? I'd love to take your word for it and it does make sense quality costs but from what I've read/seen these revolts run side by side with the lumateks... And how do you know what components are used in them unless you have direct experience. If you can show me different I would love to see it, I could sit here and claim that lumatek etc uses the same materials without proof I'm not taking anyones word for it. I don't have enough time with it yet but I hope to prove you wrong over the next 2 years ;)

Just a update everyone! I just wanted to let everyone know, I havent had any problems with the ballast or the hood or that stuff. But I do warn I switched to 12/12 and put the hps bulb that comes in the kit in. I had not even ran it for 5 hours and it blew! I havent had any problems with the mh convertible bulb, and I dont know if I just got a bad bulb. But I wanted to let everyone know that I had problems with it.

P.S Oh and to the guy talkin crap about the ballast, they have a 3 year warranty. So if it does go out within 3 years they are payin for it, lols and by 3 years if it goes out after that. The ballast would have well payed for itself by then!

Let us know what Gotham says.

I ordered a kit with only the hps light (400w) so hope its just a fluke there

Let me preface with I've never been around hps like this before.

I received my 400w package today. Tonight I put the bulb in hooked it up and plugged it in. Had ballast on 50% to keep from blinding myself too bad. Had cardboard between my eyes and bulb fyi.

So here comes my question. After firing up the light and it came on I could hear an odd sound from the bulb reflector part. Is this normal? Was kinda like a whistle or some such.

My 400w Revolt is doing great. But I'll let it speak for itself.

There's a video demonstrating the Revolt's power & ability to make the same, if not more light than any premium name brands. From the older reviews I've read it appears they're very well made cauz they're still running and the price for Gotham's kits have gone up as well. I'm seriously considering this brand, it appears to be one of the best made. If it's properly cooled, one can lower it enough to get the same penetration as a 1000 watt lamp. I was gonna buy and resell while in Los Angeles, but the price went up. Anyhow, cheers! And good luck cultivating your best. :leaf::leaf::leaf:
