Reusing cloning solutions?

I have vitagrow which is liquid and roottech which is gel.. After using the liquid solution i dumped it back into the container.. When i was ready to use it months later, it has gotten darker in color and kinda looks like there may be bacteria inside of it? (not much, just slight specs of darker floaty things) Can i still use this stuff or is it trash now? As far as the gel, it looks completely fine, lol. what to do please? i plan on clipping soon so ???? :-P Oh yea, btw the vitagrow worked better than the gel.

Well, maybe cause of the bacteria. I read not to re-use the stuff cause something like that would happen.
I dip the cuttings in the jar sometimes instead of pouring some out and tossing it. Haven't had any problems but then I havent looked for darker floaty things either.

I had some Olivia's gel that went bad on me once, It was supposed to be refrigerated after opening and I didn't know it.

I would dump anything that appears suspicious. I use the cheapest stuff out there, Greenlight Rooting hormone powder. 2 oz for $5. I dump a few grams on a piece of paper, roll the moistened stems in it and discard whatever is left over. Viola! No contamination for further use.
BTY, my last project was 42 clones, and it was 100%. I have no doubts as to the viability of Greenlight!
Good luck & good grow.......BB

These tips are so good to know. Before I actually started growing and found this site I was buying and accumulating things ahead of time, preparing for my grow. I bought Juicy Roots, which is supposed to be really good, I paid some insane price for it. Yes, it works and my cuttings all took (I'm still working on two that accidentally broke off while trying to LST), but so did yours and I could have bought 6 ounces of Greenlight for what I paid for 2 ounces of Juicy Roots gel. All that matters to me is that it works, it doesn't have to be designer or gourmet for my needs. Some people think that the more you pay for something the better it is, not necessarily. Thanks for sharing.

Never contaminate your bottle, take what you need out and throw any left over away. Like they are trying to tell you, bacteria forms in the bottle or jar and can cause problems for your cuttings, that is if it still does what it supposed to do after being contaminated.
