Question when adding back water to your reservoir at a rate of 1gL per day starting one to two days after refill, let's say your ec is 1.3 and over the course of the week you add back 5gal. Or so and your ec everyday drops slowly and ends up at around .7 what effect does diluting the nutrients slowly like this have on the girls?

As your reservoir water level drops, you should add back water (RO or distilled preferably), then check the PH and EC. You should then check your EC, and adjust to specified EC dosage. You probably will not have to do this until you add a couple gallons of water.

Over time, using that same nutrient line, you will learn what the Ph will do, and learn what your new water Ph is, and be able to add PH Up or Down respectively to the water, instead of adjusting the entire reservoir after you add the water. Does that make sense?

Alright so after a couple of gallons you should add back nutrient solution with the water to reachieve your original EC.Then resume plain Ph matched water? So if i'm with ya a gradual EC drop throughout the week is not good you want to try to achieve a constant EC if you can?

Rephrasing the question.Would it be better to add back PH balanced water to your reservoir or equally matched nutrients water at a rate of 1galon a day to your reservoir?:?:

I'm looking for the same answer. I have done dirt for years, but i'm tired of the bugs that come in it. seams to be more often now days. so i'm gonna try my hand at Ebb and Flow. the norm for me is to feed once a week and plain water as needed the rest of the time. so i'm a little curious about the feeding schedule. do the plants need that time of reduced nutes so they dont burn? or is full strength nutes every day a good thing for hydro?

My nute schedule is easy and i love my results.

on saturday i give them a full blast of nutes. i do not water during that week unless absolutely necessary, the following saturday i refill res to fill line and add no nutes. do not add water during that week, then on the following studay, i dump and clean the res and refill with water and hit with full blast of nutes.

Some say its troublesome but i keep an empty res around and when its time to change i put the lid with plants on the empty res, take the res to the bathtub, clean , and refill then adjust my ph and then add nutes.

works for me

I use technaflora line.
