Thanks mane!! That shiz is bomb brotha, you should try it! :)

I was suprised it yielded that much with no training, cfls and really it was part of my very first grow! I did however have the ph worked out by the time I germed her so she got the good ph'd water her whole life lol..

I was told she would be a good yielder but I didn't expect that off a 2ft cfl plant! I'm sure I could have gotten more off her with a few more cfl's and a bigger pot, next time!!

+Rep back at ya bro, thanks for stopping in and it makes me proud that you enjoyed the WW grow:) I'll definitely come by and check out what you have going on, if anything at the moment.
Nothing yet my seeds come tomorrow so ill be germing then and posting a journal when they are strong seedling going into the vegging phase.

yeah, the scotts, i think is great and its cheap. the 8lb is $1.50 at walgreens, but im sure you could find a bigger bag also. the stuff is pretty neutral with just a little perlite in it, might want to add a little more to it though for drainage.. mine dries out good to let you know when to water, i really like it.
and it has a small amount of bark/chips in it.
this is all could find on there site
  • Good for most types of potted plants, including indoor and outdoor container flowers, plants, herbs and vegetables
Available sizes: 2 cu.ft., 8 qt., 20 qt., 8 lb., 20 lb., and 40 lb. bags

Thanks for the info, so scotts, MG or FoxFarms.. I'm going to smoke some wonderwoman and see if I can decide which way to go, the thing is I would really hate to mess them up in any way this far along so maybe it would be worth just eating the 20 and knowing that I will get good bud out of it.. Damn, why so expensive! So much for the saying "dirt cheap" lol..

I'm having quite an issue with temps now that I have the 250 about 15 inches away and like 240watts of cfl's surronding them.. I'm not sure wether to scrap the cfl's for side lighting, "until I can get a good fan and filter" or try to make something work with my cpu fans..?? Any ideas would be great, I'm growing in the corner of a closet.. I was thinking for now maybe running 2 cpu fans, one a little above the cfl's and one up at the top of the attic and then connecting them together with 4" ducting.. to exhaust the air into the attic?? Would 2 70 cfm fans be enough to push through like 4' of ducting if there was one at each end?

Oh and just so you have an idea, its around 92-95 with all the lights on and around 85-88 with just the 250 on! Thats at the top of the canopies..

It is getting cooler outside but I would like to solve this problem now if possible with what I have..

how i have mine is ive got fans blowing onto each light..having the fans be only a few inches away from the lights.it seems like what brings the temps up so much is the glass thats used to make the cfl...that is what gets hot and puts off the heat...so if you keep the surface temps of the lights cool...not as much heat gets out into the grow area...kinda like cutting the heat off at the source...least..thats how its being working for me...temps are about 78f now...lowest ive even been able to get them...in this new box the lowest was around 85f before i moved my fans

Damn that is pretty low!! I'll try moving the smaller fan to point at the cfl's themselves, I have 2 fans circulating air in there so maybe if I blow it straight at the bulbs like your saying it will help me too..?? We will see, I think setting up some type of exhaust venting into the attic should help a good amount too though.. Hummm, I'm scratching my head once again now lol.. It never ends. Thanks for the tip though, I'll let you know if it works for me~!

i hope something works either way for ya...heat can be a bitch...i found out the hard way.and so far its made a hell of a difference for me...before the bulbs would burn me when i touched them...and the box would stay around 85-91...now that i have a fan on each light...i can touch every bulb in there...barely warm to the touch..and temps stay between 78-84....nothing else changed in my box other than that.

I think my problem is a little different though because I'm getting greedy with the amount of light lol.. I really want to throw everything at these!! 450 watts for like 5 square feet should be awesome, if I can control the temps.. If not I'll just run the 250 and a couple small cfl's for sides.. The thing is they really don't seem to mind! I hate for my babies to be hotter than they need to be though lol..

If you cant get a proper exhaust do what I do. Say fuck it. I can imagine growing in a closet can be a challenge. I cant remember what your fan setup was but Im running a 400W + 332W CFL. I have these two fans

plus a decent pc fan. The trick is moving the hot air away from your intake area. My PC fan exhausts next to a window.

If I keep more than one window cracked I get good air flow. But your gonna have to do what ever works for your area. Maybe a box fan blowing out of the closets and keep windows open.

I forget what you're growing in, but what I do is a real hassle; but it works. I open up the poly-film from my grow closet everyday around lights on time, and then put in a high-power floor fan that blows outwards. Then put the fan off and close up the panda film (There's still another fan inside constantly blowing as well. It's a bitch, but keeps my temps from getting above 85. Sometimes if I put the fan on full power it will get me to right below 80 degrees, but also has a tendency to pull the poly-film (adhered with duct tape) from the wall, so I usually keep it on medium power.

I actually have the same black fan and another thats a little smaller in my area so ours are pretty similar. Thanks for the tip, I'm going to try playing with the angles on the fans and try adding the pc fans into the mix..

Its a closet but sounds similar to what your doing only I'm using a ghetto ass sheet lol.. Thanks again for the suggestions, I'm going to play with it today and see if I can't figure something out with what worked for you guys!
