hey guys, i was just wondering if my transplant will be successful. My plant was starting to out grow it's space and i need to conserve height. I re potted into a shorter, wider container, it was actually from an old fridge, an ice cube container. How will this work, will my roots spread wide to find new room to grow or will they just continue to grow down.. any help is greatly appreciated

I personaly think that deep pots that are not has wide has some out there are best because these take up less room in the grow room. But to utilise these kind of pots in fact any watering is key over watering will result in the plants been prematurely rootbound. So water once a week on the same day don't be affraid to let the plants dry out a little every so often the plants will reward you for it in the end.You need to water and let dry and repeat the process.I f you are going to transfer to wider tubs then make sure that you don't over water or you will end up with the problem i have put above but if watered right the plants should be fine.Bigger the tub the plants are in will let the plant grow a bigger root mass bigger roots mean bigger yeild.......................................TYKE.................................................................................

They should be fine. They will probably be real happy in their new home. Shorter wider helps them not topple over as easy as they dry out a bit and helps them stay short and bushy. Don't let them dry to much. I like to keep them moist at all times. If you use the correct medium to grow in then over-watering is hard to do. Loosen the root ball before planting so the roots find the new real estate and investigate.

ok thanks guys, i didnt really brake up the root mass from the original pot, but i gave it a good watering so hopefully these roots become curious and fill into the wider space available.
