I was hoping Israel would destroy the Iranian nuclear facilities. No other country should be allowed to develop nuclear weapons.

Has the USA ever directly attacked any nation that had nuclear weapons ready to fire off? Ever?
If I were some country and didn't want the USA to come rolling across my borders in an effort to take my resources, getting nuke capability would be job #1.

I have yet been given a clear reason why it is USA can have nukes but tell other countries that they are not allowed to have nukes.
When we dismantle and dispose of ALL of our nukes, then we have some moral ground to stand on, until then we have no right to tell other countries what they can or cannot have.

The hell with morals and fairness when it comes to nukes. We're not talking about every kid on the playground getting equal amounts of candy. We're talking about a single bomb that could start World War III.

No more of them should be built, by anybody. And efforts to keep that from happening are worthwhile. And president Osama has defended Iran's nuclear program from Israel, which is Iran's most hated enemy.

I feel the same as you but my trepidation is about an arms race in the middle east occurring if Iran gets nuclear.

IF we are going to allow a nuclear ME in the name of sovereign countries having the right to defend themselves then we have to take the leash off Israel in that same vane.

When has Iran even made threatening noises towards another country, except by metaphorically saying the Palestinian should have Israel not the Israelis?

Israel has nukes. There are Russian nukes in Syria. Pakistan has nukes, India, China, North Korea all have nukes. Brazil has nukes and won't admit it. South Africa has nukes.

Israel was not allowed to have them? So what. They just got what they needed, the same as Pakistan, same as North Korea..

No country that doesn't already have nukes should be allowed to develop them. Whether they have good intentions or bad. Because good intentions can turn bad from one generation to the next.

Do you remember the teaser for Tom Clancy's book "The Sum of all Fears"?

"27,000 nuclear weapons in the world: and one is missing".

All it would take is for one of those things to find its way into terrorist hands. Just one. So, we need to stop making more, and reduce the number we have (all countries).

I've been to Iraq on business a few times. And on a day off one time, I went into a public library. And I happened to pick up a book of maps, and every map that contained Israel either had Israel cut out, or Israel was blacked out with a black majic marker. This was every map I saw in a public library in Iraq. All those countries hate Israel. And none of them should have nukes.
