Oh, my mistake. Fuck, shit, that changes everything. It jumps from .0000000297777778 to .0000001142222222. GAME CHANGER!!!

A real professor, you say? From McGill university? Checkmate. Well played sir. I can't speak for the other members on this side of the debate, but I, for one, am now a believer. I'm off to get my lobotomy and tights.
Starting from 1555 is telling. The very end of the medieval warming period, and the start of a mini ice age. So, we're warmer than we were during an ice age? Ground breaking!

The level of certainty displayed by these guys, given geological time, and the realtive short spans they are using is shocking to me.

It is akin to measuring the distance the continents are moving. You take a measurement in 2014, huge earth quake in California in 2015, measure again in 2016 and find the western coast of California has moved two feet...

THE PACIFIC OCEAN WILL BE GONE IN JUST A FEW HUNDRED YEARS!!!!

When the oceans rise, back up.
What evidence do you have to support the idea that higher ocean levels will fall in line with history?

When the icebergs melt the droughts will be reduced.
What evidence do you have to support this idea? For all we(I) know, higher ocean levels and increased ocean temps will decrease rain to areas in the mainland. Do you have some sort of source that supports the idea you've suggested?

We are not destroying this planet. It is simply changing. Just as it has throughout time.
Please provide evidence that burning fossil fuels in abundance will not destroy the planet (in terms of humans using it to live on).

Bring back the Wooly Mammoth.
Cro-Magnon. Fun stuff,

So we all die.. Who cares? If it's not climate change it'll be cancer. What are we supposed to do? Throw ourselves into volcanoes to save the earth from warming? You go first. To really reverse global warming (If there is a such a thing) we will have to whittle the earth's population down to a few hundred million. When people start offing themselves because they believe so strongly in saving the earth maybe I'll pay attention. Until then I'll choose to believe it's a money making hoax and form of global governance.

You know the whole idea of the co2 emissions affecting climate got blown to pieces when global warming was shown to be false and the data manipulated and then to continue the game they changed it to "climate change"

are you literally retarded?

sorry if that seems insulting, but anyone with an IQ not lower than two standard deviations below normal should know that there has been no manipulated data (climategate ended in exoneration), the terms climate change and global warming have both been around for decades prior to "climategate", and that there is zero evidence of a "hoax".

we're talking literally thousands of scientists in dozens of countries over the course of decades, and not a single one has ever proposed that there is a hoax or come forward to out the hoax.

to hold the beliefs you hold requires complete suspension of fact and evidence based beliefs, or literal mental retardation.

you tell me.

Yes, that is insulting.

Moving on.. Millions of people go to church every week and swear to God's existence, but I don't necessarily believe in that either. I'm open to any scientific data that shows that man made carbon emissions are causing dangerous changes in climate. I have even publicly offered $500 to any person that can show me the indisputable evidence. At this point I am agnostic, but I am happy to read any unbiased, scientific reports that you find to be satisfactory evidence.

This is typical internet behavior. Berate someone when they don't agree with you. Whenever you start calling names and using foul language the conversation breaks down and no learning or sharing can occur. As of now I don't wholly believe in it, but I am more than happy to look over the evidence if you would like to provide some links or books or videos that would convince me.

i'm not berating you because i don't agree with you, i am berating you because of your tenuous grasp on basic reality and mundane facts.

did you really not know that the "climategate" nonsense you referred to ended in complete exoneration? did you really not know that the term "climate change" existed long before your manufactured climategate nonsense?

do you really think thousands of scientists in dozens of countries over the course of decades just pulled off an elaborate hoax that ended in offering you tax breaks to switch to energy efficient appliances?

you believe in nonsense. your beliefs are so far from reality that you'd have to be an imaginative child, a mentally retarded adult, or a really easily duped simpleton to even repeat them in a public setting.

seriously, that is how far off from reality you are.

i see no reason to even provide you with any evidence, it would be like giving a deaf man a tuning fork or a blind man a box of fucking crayons. you would have no use for it.

you ma'am, are hopeless. that is all.

Duly noted that the resident right wing nuts are all avid deniers of the findings of science.

One of them thinks that the earth was created 6,000 years ago.

Ok smart guys.. What are you going to do about it? What's your proposal to save mankind?
Since you are very concerned about this topic you could learn a better way of speaking to people about it. Throwing insults from the safety of your computer doesn't help your cause.

my proposal is to continue mocking your reality-free belief set for my own amusement.

You might be cool with dying on a sinking ship too, that doesn't mean the rest of us are.

Most people are not completely apathetic to the destruction of the only planet we can live on.
Most people are not completely apoplectic to the destruction of the only planet we can live on.
