Ok so i am in my 3rd day of flower with some Big BUddah Blue cheese clones right now. I have some root rot going on with my babies. So yesterday i went out and bought some hydrogen peroxide and i filled up a 6 gallon bucket of water and let it sit out over night. I am about to empty my res clean it out and put in just hydrogen peroxide and water. Can someone tell me how much hydrogen peroide i am suppose to put in or the ratio of how much hydrogen peroxide per gallon of water. I have a 6 gallon res and im 3 days into flower if that helps at all. Any advice on what to do would be greatly appreciated i need to do this asap my lights go out in 30 min here is the link to my Grow Journal as well if that will help you out i got some pics up on the last 2 pages of my roots

i use 5ml per gallon or 1 teaspoon. we need to know what kind of h2o2 you are using. mine is 29% h2o2 from the hydro store if you have the good stuff (35%) use 3/4 of a teaspoon or 3.5ml per gallon. if you have a bad problem you can add more h2o2 every 3rd day for a week or more. some guys use it all the time in a lite dose to prevent these problems. If you do have the good stuff it will tell you how much to use on the back of the bottle. that is usually the maximum amount, they want you to use alot and but more;)

your going to have to use 10 times more than i use. 50 ml per gallon. do yourself a favor and save that for cuts on your finger and go get some good stuff. or if that is all you have 40ml per gallon is safe (1 teaspoon=5ml)

i was told its pretty much the same thing and not to waste 20 bucks on h202 when i can spend 4 bucks on hydrogen peroxide but i guess i will come buy some tommorrow but for right now thats all i have so i guess its what i need to use right now. Should i cut the roots or leave them??

Yo GypsyBush is the resident king of H202. Here's how he recommended I do my H202

"The stuff at the pharmacy is not good... they add stabilizers to it, so it lasts on the shelf...

Look up some 35% (1.7 ml/L every 3 or 4 days) or some 50% (1ml/L every 3 or 4 days) and you will save and get what you want...

Look for industrial chemical suppliers (pool shops might be of help)... I pay just over $100 for 15 gal of 50% h2o2 that lasts me well over 6 months... running 2x 100 gallon res in flower and a 50 gal for the moms..."

If you've got any other questions you should read some of his threads or shoot him a PM

Store bought stuff will cost you MORE over time because its so dilluted. Dont use it.

Use liquid H2O2, 29%, and add 3-5mL per gallon twice a week. If you use 6%, you need 5 times as much. There's some folks who think it'll hurt if you use too much, you can use 3x the amount recommended on the jug and it'll not harm your plants. But, 3-5mL per gallon (as it says on the gallon jug when you buy it ;)) is plenty and will keep your roots white as me!

Everyone has their opinion, and every set-up is different. I posted in your grow journal, but in case you didn't see it. I get 3% in a 1 Liter bottle from Target for 99 cents. I have a bloombox, total of 9 gallons between veg and flower, bottle lasts almost two weeks. I add 10 ml/ gallon, and the same ratio every day when I top off the res. My roots are white as can be. I wouldn't waste time/money with the expensive stuff, 3% works just fine. A little bit does go a long way

what early morning said is perfect for preventative measures.
but to combat an existing rot problem, your going to need the good stuff.

H2O2 is H2O2. 3% is more expensive than 30%. 3% costs $2 liter. 30% costs $24/gal or $6/liter but goes 10 times further or $.60/liter when diluted to 3% and is pure, no stabilizers.

Bottom line since you have 3% is to put 1/4 liter in your 6 gallons. Clean, clean, clean your res with more h2o2 and when you normal your grow back up, keep the water temp below 70F. Buy some hydrozyme also. It will eat up the dead roots. Cut out the obvious dead roots too.

are all 35% h2o2 the same, i got a gal from a garden/pet store and found the peroxide in the horse section, is it safe for my res?
Yea, if it says peroxide it's ok. Wow, are you in the US? Is that normal for H2O2 to be in the horse section? Used for cleaning I guess. Just make sure it says H2O2 and that it has no strange filler in it. Who makes it?
