Probably best to buy from online wholesalers, you can get some great prices.

A good digital ballast will run around $275-$300, non-digital will come in around $150.

1000watt hood will run about $40-50, a "parabolic vertical reflector" is what your looking for.

Hortilux 1000watt HPS lights (highly recommended) run about $135

should i be tripin about my bank seeing all these purchases from hydro stores online? There is a hydro store in town where i can pay cash and they give deals but I know online is probably much cheaper

Umm it depends....My hydro shop is alot cheaper than Online, cause i get like a 10-15% discount on everything...You just gotta talk to the manager and ask about discounts for certain amounts of products bought.

Yes, i would buy things from a shop using only cash.

You can never be too careful about supplies being sent to your address.

As for prices...

300 or so for digital 1000w ballast

40-75 for a large parabolic reflector (although I'd advise against mounting vertically, as it doesnt reflect as much light as horizontal, but it does cover a bigger space)

80-125 for a 1k bulb (depending on what brand..GE/Philips/Eye Hortilux)

so you're lookin at about 450-650 rough estimate.

i would not worry about purchasing from a hydro store. your all good.

A lot of places have 'different' names when they put the charges thru to your card.
