so youve answered my question perfectly.....you cant read.

for $35 you can upgrade to a great 6" air cooled hood. i said so in my original post....the one you had a hard time reading.

and it comes with a digital ballast.

and whats all this talk about stealth shipping?!? its a light...not illegal.
i was saying its packed well and wont break durring shipment, also its to not arouse anyones curiosity so no one fucks with your shit while its being shipped, im sorry bust most shipping drivers go thru your items on there truck, i know people who work for ups/fedex that get awesome free stuff all the time... second that ballast with the fan is a "piece of shit" and will fail on you long befor mine will, and i dont think that ballast come with a 5 year waranty. your 35 dollor upgarde brings you to $235 thats with out shipping and i know shipping will put you over the 260 shipped i payed, and i got alot better equiptment then that. so for someone who cant read i sure as hell got a better deal then what you showed me.

you still only have a 400W hps....this is a 600W hps. your still not reading man, the thread is a guy looking for a 600w lamp. a 600w hps where you got your little 400w costs over $300.

you still lose. your grasping at straws here man.

neg its exactly 259 shipped with a 5 year warranty for the batwing reflector and exactly 300 with one of the best hoods you can buy on the market today, for a 600watt kit. and its totaly backed for 5 years free replacements. now i can go waste my money on what your showing the kid and if it fucks up he has to buy a whole new ballest, im just trying to get the kid the best deal for his money and sumthing that will last him longer then a year. good day im sick of argueing with "ethugs".

btw these are kits with bolth mh and hps bulbs if you just want hps knock 30 off each price.

LOL @ "ethugs"

did i call any names? make any threats? then how am i an "ethug"?

HTG is cheaper, comes with a warranty...maybe not as long as the one you showed, but 2 yrs is just fine. its a solid ballast with great reviews, the upgraded hood is top notch, the bulb isnt generic.

those e-bay shops can dissapear overnight and some are scams. HTGSupply is a very reputable site that has been in business for some time now.

make whatever choice you deem appropriate.

is it that you guys cant read or is it that you cant do basic math?

THE HTGSUPPLY.COM 600W HPS IS CHEAPER

and who the hell is talking about HTG on E-Bay? HTG has thier own website, not some fly-by-night E-Bay ripoff outfit.

and yeah........

trunks convinced me. theyre both very comparable and the ballast looks a lot better with MGS.

im guessing you kinda gotta build the MGS ones tho. i dunno how hard that is. ill prob be getting the $300 deal with the sweet hood.

anyone know what cfm inline fan you need to aircool these shits. i was hoping a TD-125 from http://www.hvacquick.com/spfnconfig.php?fm=td would be sufficient?

those are soposed to be great fans.

you have to take into consideration how large your room is. that would work great for my room but my room is only 5'x7'x7'.

if you do have to build that ballast let me know how it goes. never done one before.

i think the only 'building' you do is putting the mogul into the hood.

the fans would only be used for air cooling the lights so i dont think room sizes makes a dif. ima go with the TD-125 anyways i think.

oh, i thought you meant you had to assemble the ballast. putting in the socket should be easy peasy.

room size does come into play a little. in a smaller room youll want your light to run cooler than in a larger room. is your room sealed? or does it have its own exhaust?

that fan will be plenty to cool any hood, but make sure your ducting isnt crimpled up because it will reduce the air flow thru the hood and venting. i only use two 120mm cpu fans and it cools my hood enough for me in a 2x3x4 space.

mine came all preassembled i just had to plug the cord from the light to the ballast and plug the ballast in. also pick what bulb i was gunna use so i threw in the mh for now.

i also use a computer fan to cool my hood and it works fine. i use a 4" cpu fan but i also vent my room with a 6" inline fan as well.

do you vent your room as well? or do you pull your rooms air through your lights?

i vent my light separate from my cab, i use 3 80's to bring air in then a 120 to suck air out of the bottom chanber into the top, then it circulates around cuz of how the fan is and then gets sucked out of the top by another 120mm fan. there are some good pics in my build thred. altho ive never tryed sucking air from my room thru the light, hmm i might try that to see what the temp diffrence is. temps were killing me when i first built this thing.

i currently exhaust my room into my attic(dont worry, no mold issues!) and my light into my home. next winter i think im just going to get a filter and pull all my air through my lights and into my house for the free(kinda)heat.

i know of a couple guys who pull all thier air through thier lights so i might give it a try myself.

oh, and i have passive intakes on my room. upgrades in the future, always upgrades....

sorry for the threadjack.:peace:

It's a medium closet with a tent, do I have to put the fan on the light myself? Or does it have a fan? I'll take better quality always, I only want to buy a light once. I'm thinking of trunk's 600w, it looks good.

temp is my concern, it a 600w with up to 15 plants. I was going to vent into my closet...I live in an apartment though, where should I vent?

well if your picking up that hood youll need 6'' drier venting, you could hook up the fan in many ways. its all preference and what works better for your set up.

well since youve seen how i built my box, i vent out of the top into my closet and i dont have problems. but you do need to make sure your getting plenty of fresh air into the box and pulling just slightly more out of it. this will create a vaccume and make sure you wont have hot air building up to raise your temps. also the lumitec ballest does get a little warm but not like super hot, i use an 80mm fan to blow over it and mine stays fairly cool. so you may want to leave that outside the tent this will cut down on temps also.

but yeah i went with a 400watt only because of heat and space problems for me, or else i would of gone with a 600watter. but who knows maybe after this and things go alright i just might rebuild. i hope everything goes well for you. []Deace.

so i can get the dyrer venting and fans at home depot/ And pull out hot, bring in more cool. Also, with a Lot of veritcal space, should i use that? maybe try and get a tall tent or extend it?

be carefull growig too tall with lights. they arent as powerful as the sun so thier effectivness drops greatly the further from the source you get.

if you have 5' plants only the first 18" or so are going to be getting prime light from a 600w lamp. the effectivness of my 400w lamp is even less, i only get about 12" of worthwhile canopy penetration.
