removing driver from grow light

hi id imagine someone has tried. so how much heat would i remove from my grow room by removing the driver and externally mounting it by extending the cord
im using a spider farmer sf 2000

Well , them drivers are hot as hell so it would remove quite a bit of heat but the question is , would it be enough ? Yes , you can move them wherever you want with proper size wiring. (and a little know how)

well i grow in a confined space so maybe it help keep temps down but if its less then like 10c i guess it wouldn't be worth it.

It'll help a little.
Most drivers run at least 90% efficiency, so at most, it'll be like a 20-30 watt heater element.

I use the exact same light and I dropped 3-4 degrees max pulling it out.
Ambient temperatures outside the grow space matter, along with intake & out take fans

oh yeah thanks for that info ill leave it on if you only gained only 4 degrees difference. i thought someone would of done it already and had the figures

this is true but that constant running 20 watt heater is a lot and adds up fast in a small tent or space.
