Some of you may have seen some of my older grows, CFL+HPS Cab grow ScrOG ect...
Well I am back I have had two small harvest since my last post nothing that imho was post worthy. So one late night I was sniping on Ebay an managed to run across this China 300w LED, I got it so cheap it was a no brainer. First things first LED's do put out heat from the boards inside my 300w puts about the same amount of heat as my 75w CFL did. These two ladies were both vegged for 4 weeks on CFL and one week on LED, and now have been in flower for one week on LED. Both are in MG as a medium. I am going to kick on the 150w HPS the last month of flower. I belive I had a mag def I hit them with a bit of CalMag last week and there looking better.

Good luck with your LED grow Reku! I just wrapped up my first LED grow with my Area 51 XGS-190 and LOVE it! Hope you like yours just as much!

What type of medium, kind of depends on a factor of things.

What type of nutrients are you currently using?

Are you trying to use up something you already have, or do you mind investing some time and money into switching mediums?

Personally I've only used coco mixed with perlite to great success. It physically acts like soil, but feeds like hydro. An added bonus is that it is very hard, if not impossible, to over water coco. It will only soak up so much, before the excess just runs through. How much perlite you use will dictate how fast or slow drainage is.

Coco is also said to help promote healthy and vigorous root growth, and we all know big, healthy roots = big, healthy plant. There are many different types of coco too. I happen to use bricks, and reconstitute them and rinse them well multiple times, before trying to run some pH'd water through it.

On the flip side you do have to use coco specific nutrients, so that is a consideration.

After buying one mix of coco nutrients and loving the results, I talked with the local hydro shop guy, and he gave me the contact information for the US distributor of a coco-specific nutrient manufacturer. After telling them how much I liked their product, they sent me a ton of freebies and samples of their entire line to try out, and with my small scale single-plant grows those samples have lasted a long time!

Cool man, some yummy shit will be coming your way! If you're doing organics, make sure you look into no sulfur molasses to help fatten those buds up...Jorge Cervantes says up to 20%!

I love my coco though. Treat it like soil, but feed it like hydro and yield like hydro!
