I Have 7 regular master kush seedings and I just read today some guy had 9 seeds and all 9 of them end up males & the next comment said they had 5/5 males from seed. Will this happen to me????!

My first grow was with two bagseeds. One was a male and the other died before it was sexed. Lol.

Here are the ratios of getting males to females.

1 seed = 50% change of male or 50% chance of female

More than 1 seed = luck of the draw....

You can get more seeds to increase the odds, but it's still just "luck." For instance, you can buy 10-regular seeds, and get 6 males, 4 females. Or you can get 1 female and 9 males. Or 10 males! Even more wild...10 females (rare). But, it's all a gamble.

There are supposedly some techniques you can use to help increase your chances of ending up with females, but I don't necessarily buy into it. I am more on the side of thinking genetics determine sex. Here's the link though if you want to give it a look...

I once planted 10 reg seeds ( all good stuff ) and it came to be that 8 of the 10 were males. Next time I got 6 out of 12 and after that I said " fuck that " and have been running fem seeds ever since.
I didnt want to spend another dollar of electricity on a plant that would eventually get stomped to death.
I do believe though that regs that turn female tend to run a little more stable. I never had bananas show up in any of those.

The sex of a cannabis is technically pre-determined in the seed - however the expression of that sex is subject to environmental conditions. There are little things you can do that will help ensure the seed will express itself as a female.
Beginning when the plant has roughly three sets of true leaves you can start "training for females". Higher N, lower potassium, higher humidity, cooler temperatures, more blue spectrum light, shorter daylight hours, minimal stress. There is also evidence that increased room for vertical root growth will help with those F:M ratios. This information came from Henk, the owner of dutch passion seeds. Best wishes. :peace:

Here's the thing about 50-50 odds:

It doesn't mean 1 out of 2, it doesn't even mean 5 out of 10. Even at 50 out of 100, you're just starting to approach a reasonable sample size.

Here's what I'm getting at, (on average) if you flip a coin 100 times and keep track of the results, six coins in a row will be either "Heads" or "Tails". That's, pretty much, the same as saying that out of any 100 "regular" seeds, six in a row will either be "Male" or "Female". If that doesn't sound fair, tough shit - the World ain't fair! The good news is - just as many people get all females as do all males!

50-50 odds probably don't really mean much untill you get up in the 500 out of 1,000 range.

Cammo is right. The 50-50 ratio becomes recognizably evident only when a large number of seeds are considered (say 1000, or more). As the number of seeds approaches infinity, the 50-50 split becomes more and more accurate.

And here's an interesting fact about probability and coin tosses.

Let's say you flip a fair coin 9 times, and it comes up tails all 9 times. What is the probability that the next (10th) flip will also be tails? It's still the same 50% chance that every flip has of becoming tails (if the coin is truly fair).

Let's say you have 2 fair slot machines, sitting side by side. Machine 1 has just hit a winner 3 spins in a row. And Machine 2 hasn't won in the last 5 days, over thousands of spins. What is the probability that the next spin on either machine will be a winner? They both have the exact same probability of winning, if they are both truly fair machines.

This invalidates the slot machine addict's usual belief that a certain machine "has got to win soon" based upon the fact that it hasn't won recently.

It may but I doubt it. But like a lot of people said, generally its 50/50 ratio. I had 15 bag seeds I collected over last year and only had 1 male out of 15!!! so just hope for the best because fem seeds can get pricey
