Hi,
Happy New Year To All.

New to the site, so apologies if been asked before.

Does the best quality bud/flower come from a regular female seed or feminised. I was lucky enough to be in California a couple of years ago and smoked some of the best bud I've ever seen or had in my life, The quality of product they have in there stores are different class compared to anything in Europe anyway. Is it because these guys use seeds/cuttings from a regular female seed, as opposed feminised seed.
Thanks.

Has nothing to do with that. All about the genetics/phenotype.

Have you tried both mate
Thanks
From what I've heard and read, lots of European seedbanks outsource their seedmaking to large scale farms in Africa and are dishonest about the genetics nowadays. What breeders do you have seeds from?

To be honest I've only ever done feminised seeds from European seed banks, what your saying seems bang on, very mediocre at best.
So I thought I would try Reg seeds from Dark Horse Genetics,

I can't say I've been very optimistic about anything I've bought in recent years from Europe.

Fem are theoretically better, because the breeder can see the female flower traits carried by both parents. Both parents should be fire. Whereas with regs male selection is dubious at best. Lots of stem rubbing and virtually zero male selection from comparing progeny.

In practice it depends on the breeder and the genetics they are using. I'll always choose, for example, Professor P of Dynasty's regs over bulk fem trash from dishonest businesses just trying to make a buck. However, there are tons of good fem breeders now and even some old school reg breeders are going fem only, like Mr Soul. Look for real stoners who have a passion for Cannabis.

Thanks for your reply, I'll have a nose at who you mentioned. HNY

I preferred it when I had the Sensi catalog and mail order, now days you have 100s even 1000s of shysters selling fk knows what genetics... I often ask myself how could something so good get so fkg bad, in trying to reinvent the wheel they've ended up with a square :-(

How could they fk up skunk and northern lights for example???

The problem is that the European seed banks lost the source genetics for NL at some point. Fortunately for us, the lineage persists... https://agseedco.com/

It has nothing to do with reg or fem seed females. It has everything to do with the fact that they know how to grow good weed in California. The entire west coast for that matter.

I've grown plenty of great genetics from Europe and European seed banks, I was more specifically responding to the post I quoted and the statement about how NL got fucked up. Most NL from seedbanks in recent years is not legit and at best is someone's attempt at recreating the cross.
