Reflectors....

So I have been using the same reflector for years.. Regular wings..I've been making changes recently going from old school to new school..
I come across so many random issues though. On this topic, the issue I see while looking up other hoods- Is "Oh, This reflector only runs with a Certain Ballast, Or This reflector only works with Certain Lights..." I think people make this shit more complex on purpose sometimes.

With that said, can you guys just recommend a couple good cheap reflectors that'll work with my new Nanolux Ballasts? (1000w hortilux dualarcs) I'm trying not to go over 150 a pop... Thanks in advance everyone

Big kahuna hoods. Come with adjustable light socket as well. BIG and heavy so be prepared to secure them to a joist or the like. A tent will NOT support these hoods. Their too heavy. I rock 5 of these

This bulb is designed to fit a S52 mogul socket, which is what 99% of reflectors come standard with so you should be good there. Just make sure you don't buy a reflector designed for double-ended bulbs but you probably knew that.

Some people might disagree but from my experience the BEST reflector in terms of light spread WITHOUT creating hotspots (cough, raptor) are the 'vertizontal' style parabolic reflectors painted white on the inside. Out of the different manufacture of the parabolic style I'd go for the sunlight supple one's, link:

if you want air cooled well I cant help you there, i think they're all shit for spread, and bulbs aren't designed to run properly in those conditions. This is my experience backed up by others who take this shit way more serious than me. If you're running multiple lights you should be able to run opens hoods IMO or youre designing your room wrong in the first place. Good luck and happy hunting.

There is a hydrofarm adaptor and and an everyone else adapter if you have hydrofarm and wanna run something else so it's really not that complicated.

Cut plug and re wire

There is absolutely NO way in hell I could run 3x600 in an open hood in my sealed room. Air cooled all the way with low lead glass if you wanna get super technical

I usually pop the glass out any hood. It still produces a vortex of air. Without the glass I feel I get better coverage and no hot spots.

My rooms are very Open though , that might not be best for super tight sealed areas. My room is sealed, but about 200 sq ft.

You also may be getting the benefit of UV if your bulb glass allows.
