I found the answer I've been looking for in that AMA ... here's a snippet

Are medical patients allowed to gift products? Well, there's nothing in the Cannabis Act that explicitly specifically prohibits that, but as a medical patient the system is really meant for yourself, you're supposed to safeguard your grow/cannabis, and there is a provision that would allow Health Canada to revoke a growing registration certificate if it there's reason to believe "the holder poses an unacceptable risk to public health or public safety, including the risk of cannabis being diverted to an illicit market or activity."

This article is quite informative, in that it's one of the first times we're hearing how HC/law enforcement will approach this: https://www.theleafnews.com/dearherb/dear-herb-can-i-legally-share-my-medical-cannabis-seeds-and-seedlings-with-a-friend-who-wants-to-grow-501998741.html

HC Spokesperson says it must be a true gift and not a sale or trade. Also, neither of the parties can be an organization. It has to be between two individual adults. And you must respect the distribution limit of course.

@GrowRock - Seeds will be on their way Wednesday ... You should have them sometime around new years or just after (although the Canada Post fiasco might still delay things)
