Red burning MH bulb

If you have doubts about a bulb. Please don't run it. Is the bulb blackened or anything?Pics will get you a good response from the right people.
Can you return it?

Nope. I came up on a 400w ballast and housing that was designed for outdoor applications like parking lots for dirt cheap at an auction. This bulb was already in it..
I'm just getting started on roll it up so I'm still trying to figure out how the hell to post a pic. But the ballast says metal halide and its round and fat like an MH not long and slinder like a hps..

Absolutely. I veg under 4-4000k CXB3070's.

If its what you have yes, it will veg and flower plants. 3500-4000 is right about in the middle where you would want to be if you planned to use this bulb throughout the grow for veg & flower. I vegged and flowered my entire last run under 3500K CXB3070's
