Red/Blue

this might be a stupid question but can i just get a red/blue light, either be flouro or led, and does that cover the spectrum thing

If you're talking about red/blue party type lights, then no, that won't do. You want 6000k+ for veg and 2300k for flowering. The type of lighting ( LED / fluoros / HID ) is your preference.

You want 5400k (or 6500k, I've heard multiple of each) for Veg, and 2700k for flower when it comes to CFL's that is.

Yeah, you've heard multiple for veg because "Daylight" CFL's come in a range that varies from 5000K to 6500K, but I hear 6500K is ideal...And 2700k for flower when using CFL's for flowering is the general consensus, though 3000K will work too, and you CAN flower with 6500k, just not ideal...
