Hey Guys, I transplanted these lil girls (hopefully) about 48 hrs ago and they seem a little off....

1. Should I give them a day with no light? (on 24hrs now)

2. What are the brown spots? (see red boxes in pics)

3. Why did some of the leaves turn light yellow? (stress from transplant?)

4. Water level is about 2.5 inches below the top of the perlite. Also I started feeding them 1/2 dose nutes (Fox Farm Hydro).... is that ok?

5. Temp today got a little hot at 100 degrees.... (norm is about 84) - stealth closet grow won't get any lower....

I just pray these lil bastards live! So any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Cheers

LOL, You did what i did... And it so embarrasing when you work it out.

1. You wet your leaves, then they dry, the leaf will shrivel up like your grandfathers johnson, and get a few little holes in it, these leaves dont seem to come good again, they stay deformed looking.
2. Ive only ever seen those yellow leaves once, a friend was running EC 25-28 through week 5-6 of vegging. It was like so far past "nute burn" the leaves just turned yellow. It looked very sick.

Your grow looks very different to mine, i would have used rockwool + hydroton pellets. Im not familiar with that white foamy looking stuff.

My guess #1, youve got to much water in your res and youve got the bottom of the pots actually submerged.
guess #2, your burning the shit out of them, they look very stressed. i hope this chart helps you.

Hey Diablos, thanks for the reply!
1. The water comes up about 1 inch into the pot... roots have at least 2 inches of air....

2. Am I really burning the shit out of them? they are 2 weeks old and at 1/2 recommended nutes....

Thanks!!

depending on wat line of nutes ur using but most likly u are burning them. flush them with plain water and leave them in that for a few days. then give them a 5-10% feed for the 1st feeding. i grow soil so im not really sure on hydro but it seems like it would be the same both ways. ur 1st couple feeding u going to want them to be really weak.

Hey bigbubba227, thanks for the advice! Although they do look better today then they did I think I will flush them out just to be safe. Man this hydro thing can be a bitch!! But I won't give up....haha

I am dealing with the same type of crap. It is really hard to follow the directions for nutes because some strains cannot handle it. Like my ak-47 babies that I have now take a lot less nutes than average plants. I have been fighting with my ppm pen to keep the reservoir at the perfect level. Then everyone says raise ppm by 100 each week. But wtf does that mean. What if you are full strength on your nute directions. Are you still supposed to raise ppm by 100 every week?

Like right now my babies are 4 weeks from seed and I am already full strength on my nutes. I am running at 650ppm. That being said, until it goes into flowering my feed schedule does not raise any ppm by the week. So, I am torn between just added more base to get that extra ppm every week or not.

I still don't know what to do. I guess it is a learning process.

Also, you must get your temps down to in the 70's. If you can't, then there is no reason for you to grow and you will waste your money. You need to get a large fan to duct air out the top of your closet and a small fan to bring air into the bottom of your closet.

If you're at full strength that's all you can do. A few strains can be pushed with nutes but that's not your agenda. Just keep at it as you are. Good luck!

BIG NO NO...with the inch above the pot. Always keep the water about 1/4" to 1/2" below the net pot. Otherwise the rockwool or your medium will get soaked and start forming mold. Thats hell to deal with.

Canna is right. I think your whole problem is your res. temp. When your res temp goes up it starts locking out nutrients. You need a fish tank thermometer in your res. never anything above 75-76F.
