Hi RS,

Could you please double check this for me ... I'm about to place an order so this is critical info to me ..

No due to the size of the lens holder being 4" well the hole spaces you'll need 5" heat sink
According to KB datasheet, holes are 106mm apart (~4inches).

So if you were to place the lens holder so the screws are in a X position over a 4inch heatsink, wouldnt the screws fit ??

(As opposed to + shape where it wouldn't)

Here is a shitty illustration to help visualize :)
(According to my calculations, only 8cm is required .. I have 10)

@ Realstyles I'm thinking for my purposes, making two, perhaps three panels instead of one and this will be more convenient for me. I'm about to order the components. I'll be using CXB3590 with 4 per panel. The last things I'm deciding on are

1. Is there any advantage to using 36V COBS? I do want efficiency and don't want to limit the lumins.

2. Have you tried the 3000K Cree COBS in one panel? I was thinking of running one perhaps two panels with 3500K and another with 3000K for bloom.

3. Any issues you see if I were to run a 3000K panel along with a 3500K during veg?

4. Any issues you see if I were to run a 3500K panel along with a 3000K during Bloom?

Thanks & an especial thanks for all the helpful photos & construction tips!

1. the advantage is you can match up with drivers easier
2.yes and yes lol I'm using them as we speak

Hey there, I'm pretty new to all this and I have a unique 'problem.' My veg is all HPS in order to induce stretch in the early stages of life. I don't need to build budding sites until later, I just want them tall. Would the longer wavelength chips like 3,000k work like HPS to stretch?

Yes but 2700k would be better because it has less blue

if you want more stretch try a light bar with just far reds. run it when you want more stretch through the whole day cycle. Once you have enough height, stop using it.

During flowering you can use the same far reds, just at the end of the day cycle for the Pfr effect.

@ Realstyles: I can use some more advice if you don't mind.

I'm thinking about how to best position one, two or more panels and need to decide which heatsinks to order. If I use:

4 CXB3590 3000K 72V
4 CXB3590 3500K 72V
4 CXB3590 5000K 72V
12 Ideal holders
12 LED 80 degree Glass Lens
3 HLG-185H-C700A Drivers

Would I be best off to use a 24x10 heatsink for the 3500K & 5000K and a 10x12 for the 3000K for bloom

or... Three 12x10 with 4 of each kind of COB on it

Or, should I fit them all on one heatsink say 30"x10" and switch off the 3000K during veg? If I used one larger heatsink I'd still have to put two fans on it.

What do you think?

Thanks!
