Really need help choosing nutrients

Monsato/Bayer have already genetically modified and patented a lot of crop seeds. They have ambition to do the same with cannabis as soon as it goes legal federally. Anything with their fingers on it is something to steer clear of.

Why choose a nutrition line that has any connection to Monsato at all? There are heaps to choose from and they all have a similar result. Why not buy from a company that actually cares about the plant we all love ?
I buy Botanicare coco bricks because it's quality coco. Botanicare is owned by by Scotts as wel as are dozens of other companies making and selling products for the cannabis industry.

Just because a company doesn't have any obvious direct ties to companies like Monsanto doesn't mean they don't exist. The ingredients in most nutrients all come from the same factories from the same multinational fertilizer companies all likely with ties to Monsanto. It's not as if these smaller cannabis specific nutrient companies make the monopotassium phosphate, calcium nitrate, etc... they use in their products. They buy it in bulk and mix it. They all get the ingredients from the same places.

That's very true. But I still think it's ethical to try and keep our spending dollar out of the pockets of the multinationals if we can.

The line I'm using at the moment doesn't contain any mined salts. So that's gotta be a good thing IMO

I’ve heard before gh is a bit dodge ..Ive already bought a green house seeds pots a light etc and now I’m just trying to figure out how to feed them .will that biofuel kit supply everything from start to finish as well as be ok for use with coco peat /perlite .
Buy the two bottles of Iguana. One is Grow. The other Bloom. Certified organic. Read the literature on it. It specifically includes “coco coir”. One teaspoon in a gallon. That’s it.

I didn't know there was 2 kits. The kit is started with had 1 litre bottles of Green Diamond A + B, Aloevate, Biodiesel, Rhino K and Crystal Clear. And a 200 ml bottle of the supernatural and Marine cal-mag. That's every product that they make.

I finished that kit quite a while ago and now I just buy it in the 5 or 20 litre containers when I'm running out.

Here's their Website. https://biodieselnutrients.com.au/

Another good hack that you can try if you like is putting air stones in the bottom of your pots and using an aquarium air pump to push extra oxygen into your root zone. I've found that it boosts the growth considerably.
The line I'm using at the moment doesn't contain any mined salts. So that's gotta be a good thing IMO
Il go have a geez at that shop today ..I’ll let you know what I get

The professor Nutes come in organic option .not sure bout the bio diesel range what are you using for your grow medium?
They might not be open today maybe give them a call to check. I use a Coco perlite 30% mix. I buy the 25 litre bags of Hy-gen Coco and the perlite from Bunnings. You can also buy bags of the mix already made.

I would check the shops price first. it will more than likely be cheaper than 220

General Hydro , flora series .... a qt of each of the 3 parts for 35 bucks, works better than any bullshit overpriced nutrient there is, it's the og of nutrients , been around since the 70s
I use nothing but GH products when I'm running hydro and don't care who makes it as long as it works.

Dont believe all the idiots saying Monsanto bought gh , they did not , here is the email from another forum where a member reached out to gh ,

Hello,

The rumor that General Hydroponics was sold to Monsanto is false. Hawthorn Gardening Co. purchased General Hydroponics. Hawthorn Gardening Co. is a subsidiary of Scott's Miracle-grow which has a licensing agreement with Monsanto for Roundup in the home and garden market. That means Scott's distributes the non-commercial version of Roundup. They are not the same company. They simply sell one product made by Monsanto and only in the home and garden market, not the agricultural/commercial market.

Nothing here at GH is changing. Not our formulas, not our ingredients, not our distribution channels, nothing at all. Hawthorn Gardening Co. wishes to focus on Urban farming and hydroponic food production. General Hydroponics will continue to provide products for its target market as it always has.

Thank you,

Jesse Pennington

GH flora series is a great product....
I don't mean to offend but the pic I just saw of your tent does not look like a very weighty harvest. Are you sure GH is the very best?

Actually GH is owned by ScottsMiracle-Gro through their subsidiary Hawthorne Gardening. The only ties to Monsanto is from Scotts exclusive distribution agreement for the product Roundup which has nothing to do with GH.

Not the first time I've heard about how GH is "in bed" with those evil f@#%ers at Monsanto. Not only does GH have nothing to do with Monsanto, they were independent of Scotts for a long time before Scotts went on buying spree and picked up a few companies that were in the MMJ game.

GH is owned by Scott's, it's the same company. When you buy their products the profits go to the greasy shit who owns Scott's. And Scott's have a business relationship with Monsato. How is the connection not clear?

Not really, far from all nutrients are mined.
And mining natural phosphates and potash isn't really the polluting part of the process. The bad stuff comes from heat/chemical treatments when refining. For example when they combine nitrogen to hydrogen to make amonia, they straight up burn natural gas as an hydrogen source.

for a first grow i would choose a rich soil and simply use 20-20-20 and 15-30-15. This will teach you how to grow and give you time to do research and learn more about fertilizers and nutrients.

I've seen a lot of newbies kill plants using soil because it's difficult to feed. Just look at how many of the posts asking for help are using soil vs Coco. I would think that Coco has the highest rate of success for new growers. You might not get it perfect the first time you try but at least you will harvest.
