OK. I've done so much reading in the past few days. I'm so frustrated. I've been making my bud into iso, and my iso into butter. I've been using a little less than 2g of iso to 1.5 sticks of butter. That is my return from 1 pull from around 14g of my trim and popcorn buds. The cookies I make from 1 stick of that butter are bomb. Like, most people eat them and fall asleep. They completely dominate my day, there isn't much I can do after eating one.

I see all this noise about people using "3 oz of fire" in 1 stick of butter. That is ridiculous. There is no way that is economical. I'm not sure if its just people trying to sound badass or what, but that is EXTREME overkill. Or, they have shitty weed. I enjoy being really stoned and unable to function from my cookies, but if I want to have a full blown psychedelic experience I'll do some LSD, not eat enough THC to kill a small animal (jokes, but you know what I mean.)

So, my question is, if I cook a stick and a half of butter with my very very frosty trim in my crockpot for 6 hours or so, will my butter be bunk? If extracting to iso first really makes THAT big of a difference, I guess I'll keep doing it how I've been doing it.

I don't mean to sound like some kind of elitist or that I'm talking down to anyone. I'm just really sick of misinformation and forums full of people trying to 1up eachother.

I use 2oz of high quality trim/popcorn per lb of butter, 3-4oz of low quality trim. That gives 14 servings per stick of butter at ~1g/serving. I throw my trim into the crockpot with the butter for 6 hours like you are talking about, strain, cool, scrape, re-melt to add lecithin, store/cook. I've also taken 2oz of bud/trim and turned it into ice water extract and put that into the butter. I noticed very little different in potency (a little more up high, but it was a more sativa-dom strain), but the taste was much cleaner. So if you shoot for ~1-1.5g per serving depending on quality, you should be good.

Thanks very much :] 1 pound of butter is 4 sticks, so 2 oz / 4 sticks = .5 oz per stick, which is what I'll be using. Awesome :]

Let us know how it turns out! I dont experiment too much, each 'trial' lands me with enough edibles for a week, and I'm too much of a smoker to care to eat that much. I still have a few lbs of butter sitting in the fridge that I need to use up.

I always use about a half o to 3/4 o high grade shake or nug in my brownies. I find that I can just use a little over what the brownie box says on oil depending on how heavily the box says. I usually put about 3/4-full cup vegetable oil in a pan and grind all shake or nug and move around with a spatula. keep it on reeally low heat, but it still gets finished in an hour or hour and a half with some dank results!!! then throw in the oven at a lower temp than the box says due to THC degredation at 315 degrees F, I usually go 300 degrees for a bit longer than required for some gooey thoroughly cooked goodness!

i totally agree with these people that post recipes that would kill a hourse they are so potent! my lungs are jacked so i have to eat medibles. last batch of butter i made, i used about 1.5OZ flowers, 2oz shake/leaves/ small flowers, to what started out as 5lbs butter, but i separate the milk fats and leave the just golden oil. i have found that the milk fats "burn" too easily and will ruin the flavor of the cannabutter. and i dont make cookies/brownies, i make chocolate gnoche, this way it makes 60 pieces that i can keep in the freezer till they are gone(they dont expire!)
