OK SO I just started smoking MJ, like the begining of this month , and I got the crazy idea to try and grow something, I have read alot of fact's on wikipedia - that show's you guys that I am a novice to this, about soil , growth medium fertilizers and on and on, I so the novice that I am could not get soil from a normal garding shop, so I used the soil that was in my yard , thats my growth medium - in a pot with soil , I have two pots and I hope to get two plants.

I have a soil growth medium , I have a florecent light bulb, that I use for a D/N REGIEM or 16H day / 8H night, I have red that it normally takes like 8 days , for germination to be able to see a plant start to poke out the soil, it has been 3 days so far - so if 8 days pass and I see nothing what should I do ? I got my seed's from the weed that I smoked , there were seeds in it and I just saved the seeds , I save 19 seeds , I put 12 in the firs pot and 7 in the second pot, I dont know what type of seeds thay were, I do have a strong feeling that thay are sativa , outdoor based seed's.

AND thats why if it is outdoor sativa I will have to do alot of training with the plant so it dose not grow , to tall, that's if it grow's at all.

I don't know what kind of soil you have in the Bahamas, but if it is anything like most, outdoor from the ground is called "Dirt", not "Soil", and is not sufficient to grow a plant with much success.
It sounds like you need to do a LOT of reading here before you expect to see much of a result.

Agreed unless you have a shit ton of seeds I would read up on germination and vegitation before I dumped any more seeds.
However it is all a learning experience. That being said you should look up soil and soil alternatives also.
Do not forget to read about nutes too because you will need them soon.
Good luck.

I thank all of you for your advance insight, and I will try and save more seed's and do the reading that you have suggested, with this first novice attempt I after a wk and a half have passed will post, if anything did grow or not, but I must say I really hope something dose grow.

Each plant is going to need its own pot to grow. You want to start with smaller pots -- some people start with plastic Solo drinking cups -- so that the seedling's roots grow down, not out. Then you transplant to a bigger pot. And I think some people transplant a third time to the big-ass pot that the plant will flower in. I use a hydro set up, so I've never transplanted anything.

But you will want to carefully transplant each seedling you get into its own grow cup/pot. You should probably wait a few days to make sure you're not actually transplanting a seed that hasn't germinated as well as the seedling you see, otherwise you'll be doing it again, and you don't want to stress out the seedlings too much.

Good luck!

1 seed, 1 pot. The only time I tried multiple seeds per pot I didn't have very good results.

Edit: I see that someone else already said it..... However trying to separate multiple plants from one pot, into separate pots may prove fatal to your babies.

I actually transplant 4 times over the course of a plants life. I try to tell newer growers, but sometimes if falls on deaf ears. "The bigger the pot, the bigger the plant."

Ah....... Much difference in the context though.
Hence, the farmers going out to till or plow the soil, not dirt.
If YOU said "from outside" or "dirt", with your posts, answers, and what not, I would assume different-that you meant soil of some sorts, but when a (No offense OP) newb says 'dirt', or 'from outside', first thought for me is the shit from the side of the lawn, that has sticks, weeds, cat shit and other wonderful additions to it involved.
