ok, i know this is wide range answer depending on where you are located, but what are the effects of using tap water? I know i have chlorine in my water...BUT i water my garden with the hose.....and flowers thrive! bushes, roses and my girls! nothing noticeable happening to them....MY first indoor grow used tap water right from tap same day i pulled it and yielded great......so what are your thoughts?

Peace

Its more important when running a hydroponic setup than a soil setup. Tap water doesnt really have any negative effects other than the chlorine, it just that in hydroponics it throws your water ph out of equilibrium because you dont really now what is in that water. I prefer a 1/3 tap water to 2/3 R/O water in my aeroponic setup.

When I first started growing (E&F Hydro) I spent a couple hundred bucks on PH and PPM meters. I haven't picked either of them up in about 4 years now. My plants grow just fine. I keep track of how many gallons I put into my holding tanks to top them up, and change them out completely and add fresh nutes when I've added the same number of gallons (usually takes about 3 weeks).

Maybe I just have good water, I dunno.

i use tap water myself, i suppose its more alkaline, but never tested it. when we were kids, we always said theres something in the water round these ends cause most of us grow like tree's haha (me being 6'1) so i guess its a good thing! oh and i always fill up th old 6pint milk botles (got 3) and just let the air get to it to dispurse chlorine.

its you did not buy into marketing! its the same as aquariums, its hard to trust suppliers advise as they want to make money...spent lots of money on dechlorinators, one day stopped using it....15years later still NOT using it and i have great looking plants and fish.....
