Not sure what you should do, but I'd get some tweezers and grab any ripe seeds before they disappear (fall out)
It looks to me like all you have left is secondary leaves, so you surely wouldn't top, IMO.
Any chance it's ripe and ready? Pics a bit undefined.

i think you are over watering - you should only water once every four or five days - only when the soil is dry 4 inches down..
it is pretty late for topping.. i would just let it ripen up - and your cousin is right - here in northern CA we harvest right about the end of oct or possibly into november..

I disagree with that statement....
It all depends what strain when you harvest in northern Ca. I live in Lake County and mine have been flowering for 7 weeks now and the triches are cloudy to amber....In three more weeks mine will be at max maturity....at the end of September.....I start them Cinco De Mayo

Yea, I grow 6 every year and I usually have a couple that are ready early. All 6 plants are on the south side of my house....the end 2 that get the evening sun the longets are a little more mature(amber triches)...maybe Tuesday ...The strain is "Shipwreck'..heres a couple shots from last years groove.
