Chances are they would die from lack of light before they began flowering. But assuming u were ass out for 2 days or so and they somehow sexed in that short time u would just throw them on a 24/0 cycle after about a week youl see lots of wierd growth that looks nothing like weed. Then it will slowly start lookin familiar. Check out my photo album or the grow in my signature. U can watch a plant re veg. I take all my clones while the mom is in flower so I need to re veg them. U can see the crazY shit they do lol

However it seems unlikely they would explode into flower over a night without light lol. A lot of people use re veg as a technique. A way to keep supply up. They'll veg harvest then re veg to get another harvest out of it. Or I personally will flower to see the yield potency etc. Of a possible mother or seed bearing plant and when I find "the one" I will re veg and clone it for a while then throw it out back (when I had one :( ) at the beginning of summer and come oct. Its a fackin beast.

How does one day of power outage cause flowering? This typically takes 2 weeks of 12/12.

I put my plants into 12/12 and had some preflowers after just a day. The plants were mature and ready to flower, which is why it didn't take as long. If you FORCE your plants into flower before they're ready, then yeah, expect to wait at least a week or two before you see any signs of flowering.

Still, I don't think one day of no power would send them into full flowering, so putting them back into a veg cycle wouldn't be an issue.

can you really damage a plant by re-veg after short periods?
For instance, if i switch to 12/12 for a week to see which are females, and then go back to 24/0 to veg for another little while..... can that negatively affect them?

This wouldn't hurt it, it's random shit like a single light being on during your dark period that causes hermies. A strong plant will reveg without problems.
