re-flowering my already harvested plant..?

Hi guys just quick question about my re-vegged (after harvesting, then re-vegging) 'big bang 2' strain.. it's fully re-vegging now and the shoots are fkn everywhere, plus 1st time around it was indica-dominant, but now it seems like it's FULL 100% indica., leaves are fat broad dark leaves now.. Can anyone let me know anything regarding re-flowering.? I have a few more strains under 250w dual spectrum (sunmaster)+325 cfl in a 80 80 160 cm grow tent. I'm still vegging n have another 400w super deluxe for flowering,..
any tips info on flowering my already harvested plant again will be really appreciated.. and any experience of anyone else who has done same..

Hey Gaz29,

I've been researching this very subject as of late, and while I haven't had a chance to practice what I've learn yet, I can at least summarize what most growers are saying. Most seem to agree on this technique:
  1. When you harvest your plant, only harvest the top 1/3 to 2/3 of the plant. In general, the more of the original plant you leave intact, the faster it rebounds.
  2. Immediately after harvest, make sure you feed your plant nutes that are high in nitrogen to preserve the remaining leaves from dieing off
  3. Switch lights back to a flowering photoperiod, such as 18/6 or even 24/0, and switch back to vegging nutes.
  4. You won't see much regrowth for a week or so, but you'd continue to keep the plant on vegging lights/nutes until it regrows to the desired pre-flowering size. Remember, plants can double their size during flowering, so be sure to leave yourself enough space.
  5. Once at the desired vegging size, switch nutes and lights back to a flowering regiment
  6. Allow 6-10 weeks for reflowering (varies by strain, grow setup, etc.)
  7. Repeat steps 1-6
It sounds like you are at about step 5 of this process. Here are some of my sources, I suggest reading them for more specific hints and tips from those who have actually done it, but keep in mind they all say about the same thing:

Cheers shiddymonkey, iv read those links you posted, they're mostly the same stuff, nothing new , but it's helped make up my mind.. I'm gonna go ahead n flower in about a week ( took several cuttings).. was hoping for anyone's personal experience in the 2nd flowering of same plant. Hope you go ahead n have a go.. (re-vegging) it's quite easy..! Gd-luck + cheers for your links etc..

I use gebric acid ga3

spray the plant with that after harvesting and water with veg feed I normally keep them under 12/12 while doing this they`ll shoot off new tops and lots of new leaves

they can stretch quite a bit if you get the ga3 dosage too high then once there "growing" I then put them under 16/8, 18/6 or 24 and let them veg up

Using ga3 really speeds up there flip back into veg but sometimes it can cause them to hermi, I think that`s reduced by keeping them at 12/12 but other people seem to do better switching to a veg light cycle depends on set up I guess.

Cheers but I'm just about to flip( again ) in roughly ten days, got a few other strains to flower too, just giving them another week n half or so, then 12/12. I knew that gibberic- acid n possibly hermaphrodite side effects..but thanks for the post..
How was flowering 2nd time around.? Any tips hints or info welcome on the 2nd flowering of same plants.. ta.!

I did this to a Sourd about 3 years ago. I cloned a few buds. No issues reflowering. I did stop growing it a month ago. I've found others to grow. I just got 3 clones from a kick butt SSH freebie seed I got. I took buds and cloned them about a month ago. All lower soft popcorn shoots. Rooting gel in soil with a humidity dome and a warming mat. I just transplanted them a few days ago in half gallon containers to take clones when large enough.

Dandyrandy, I'm just re-flowering this harvested, re-vegged plant ( tho I have taken clones ) , what I WOULD like to know is what was flowering like second time around , like yield, quality, etc.. .? Appreciate your input..

I saw zero difference on the Sourd. I expect the same from the SSH.

I'm very interested in the results, personally. Pics would be wonderful. I'm planning on doing this with my next grow, and if all goes well, continuing the regeneration process until either the plants die or yield/quality degrades.

Quick question for either Gaz29 or dandyrandy,
Did you change out the soil after harvest or keep the original soil? I've read that you should change the soil, but to me it seems that a good flushing + nute control is all you would really need to do (and perhaps a little extra soil being added to offset drainage erosion). Thoughts?

I always change soil but I actually harvested the whole plant. I just took cuttings and rooted the cuttings. I see no reason for problems unless stress is an issue. The SSH has some funky looking leaves but is growing like a weed. Once it's ready I will take cuttings from it.

Shiddymunkey, i didn't change soil at all til last night when I re-potted it for flowering in next week or so.. but it's depending on your roots etc ( probably best to add a little soil ).. now with the fresh soil ( all-mix -'bio-bizz' ) + bigger pot ( 18 litre ) I'm happy to go ahead n flower once it's settled in.. good luck when you do it..
I will kp updating post.. just having problems with loading pics to this tablet, but i'll try get sum posted when/ after i flip..gaz

Dandyrandy, i also harvested the whole plant.. this is me flowering same plant.. I have taken clones/cuttings, which i will veg for duration of this grow, so i'll have big mofo's by time this round is done.. i only grow for my 'personal' ,so quality is my main goal, yield is important too.. I have aurora indica, ak49 auto, widow, hash bomb x 2, papaya n a super skunk auto along with the big-bang2 re-vegged.. flip them when they've settled into bigger pots..

I re vegged 4 ugorg no names. My advice is its pretty straightforward, (as you know) wait for leaves to return to normal, wait for adequate branching, clear all useless branching prior to flipping. I expected huge growth after flipping, it didn't happen. In hindsight's I would have taken cuttings at the earliest opportunity and flowered them instead (had it not been an experiment) I would of vegged longer but I had already waited 3 month. My yield was below par but it was all bonus, I finished them outside and they turned Purple/red/blue

How much below par was your yield n was the quality still there..? It's been roughly nine weeks since my 1st harvest, there's many shoots so maybe scrog it along with a big hash-bomb iv bn training.. I took cuttings from it but gonna have those veg during this flowering period.. Cheers for your input , really appreciated.!

originally I vegged 2 in a 150 x150 (5x5) and 2 in 120x120 (4x4) both scrogs. They were monsters but I left lots of larf due to not thinning out enough. I got 43oz (25oz and 18oz). Second time around 7oz ish. Lol but as I said I didn't want to wait longer, but should've.

Yeah it flowers fine but you get a lot more branches so normally the technique is used to make a mother plant or something you plan to cut a lot of clones off before flowering, I guess you could just trim off unwanted new growth right away that may speed up the re-veg time but then you`d miss out on getting a load of clones

infact I have a vanilla haze I`m cropping in a day or 2 that I`m going to GA3 save me cloning the one in veg or getting more seeds I like how black its leaves went when it got cold at night and the bud looks frosty but I know she can get some bigger buds if I take it easy with the aspirin next time round.... cbd crew vanilla haze is worth a run
