RDGgreenthumb 2010 Outdoor Grow

Thought id get this season off to a good start, albeit a late one, and being my new? 2010 outdoor thread. Seeing as ive already tried to start this twice, and accidentally deleting both of them ill keep this first one short & to the point.

1 DNA genetics Lemon Skunk
2 Green House seeds Big Bang
2 GHS Himalaya Gold


Vegging indoors under 216 Watt HO t5 fluorescent for about of month before being moved into the great wilderness of america to enjoy the sunshine.

Fox Farm liquids nutes while still inside, then moving on to Gen. Hydro's Heavy Harvest summer and fall formulas once on site. Also being used is Humboldt Roots a root growth additive, and azamax a very good preventative maintenence tool against isects and slugs.

2 sites in seperate clearings on a wooded hillside. The upper spot was terraced to put plants in ground, about 5'x2.5'. Here i used Fox Farms happy frog soil conditioner mixed 50/50 with native soil. Lower spot will have the plants in 5 gal grow bags filled with happy frog potting soil since the native soil is too rocky and terrain is too steep.

Looks good so far, Im just concerned about the shade. If you used the same spot before did the buds come out airy? If its a new spot will you be trimming the closer trees?

No i didnt bury those first leaves, which are called cotyledon, though i did bury them maybe a quarter inch deeper then what originally sprouted. They were started i rapid rooter cubes then put in soil almost immediately because ive found the cubes dry out too quickly under a light and fan. So i just transplant and cover the cube to keep it moist. The L skunk is just staying surprisingly short.

Thanks for checking it out!!
Yield isn't of huge concern and i am a strong believer in not counting chickens before they hatch..
So I'll have to get back to you on this one, unwanted, as the season progresses.

Yes, the shade is of concern when we first found the location, but its just so damn hard around here to find any clear area that isnt being used by humans. We are using a limb saw that my buddy uses for his huge apple tree to trim away the canopy, but even without it they get direct sunlight from about 8AM til 1pm. Our lower spot which i havent gotten pics of yet is completely free of canopy and open to direct sun nearly all day. The only drawback is the hillside isnt suitable to even dig up so the plants must stay in pots. A little give and take, but hey thats life!! O and these are all new spots to me. Peace

So today was quite a long one. With high temps in the mid 90's it made todays trek to the spots even more arduous. But it was all in good fashion and what had to be done was accomplished. New pics of the little ladies along with some updated pics of the growing sites.

Youll notice in the next few pictures some damage. A couple lower fan leaves have some nute burn, and the cat decided to nibble on the plants. Never again will that feline have a chance to take a bite out of my MJ.

Ill update before the weekend is over. Much last minute work to be done before the biggest two are taken outdoors.

So it's taken me longer than i expected to update but things are moving smoothly. After this I will be making 2 posts. The first with updated pictures from June 10th. The second will be updates from June 16-17th. Finally have the two eldest outdoors!

The two biggest plants are Big Bang and Lemon Skunk. The three smallest are 1 Big Bang, 2 Himalaya Gold. The skunk just recently started showing off its sativa heritage, though at this point the big bang was still the taller of the two.

Made the trip up the mountain by myself today. It's been nearly 4 days since my two largest plants (big bang, lemon skunk) were moved to their final homes. Here are some pics my friends.

Can anybody tell me what the white spots are on the leaves?
